i just got a new 290 sdx OB. great so far. but, when on shore power the outlets are tripped and i cant get GFI fault off. i tried the main panel reset and the individual outlets reset. marina where i bought it doesnt know. no manuals. anyone know a trick?
also, when i use inverter i get reverse polarity light. with shore power all is fine except the outlets.
marina thought there was a certain order to do switches with inverter but didnt know what.they said it was ok for them.
kind of crazy that none of this is in the manuals.
any advice?

What is shore power IE 30 AMP etc. Do you plug your cord directly into marina shore power or use an adapter. Have you checked voltage at shore power outlet.

shore power is 30 amp. volt meter reds ok. Shore power worked fine on my dancer

as an update, i have the outlets working on shore power. still cant get outlets to work on inverter only. we have power at the outlets but reversed polarity and nothing will operate off the outlet. Sea Ray cant figure it out so far

I doubt the invertor output is wired directly to the AC side of the boat. You must have a switch , like a a generator transfer switch

no transfer switch. my dancer had a transfer switch. the control panel simply has a main power switch that seems to turn on shore power when it is plugged in. if i unplug shore power and turn on inverter battery and turn main power on, the reverse polarity light comes on and outlets don't work. Putting a gauge on the outlets also show reverse polarity. i can leave inverter battery on and turn off main power at control panel. Now reverse polarity light goes off but a gauge on outlets still shows power but reverse polarity.
There is no manual. Sea Ray sent me a draft wiring diagram but it doesnt mean a lot to me other than inverter seems like it is directly wired to outlets. Cant figure out how shore power is wired to the outlets. it seems to me that shore power doesnt go directly to outlets. It powers the inverter which then powers outlets. So when inverter is on shore power, outlets work. But what inverter is on battery power they dont work. Dealer doesnt know and Sea Ray doesnt know. Dealer wants me to take it back to them ( 4 hr boat trip) and they will trace the wiring. Im going to have to do that at this point unless someone has an idea.
