I am heading out through the Erie Canal for two weeks. We will be on docks that do not have the 50A/250V power that I need. I would like to get some adapters to connect to the various power outlets.

I will get a reverse Y adapter to connect to two 30A sockets.

Some areas only have a standard 15A outlet. I think I will get two 30A to 15A adapters to use with the reverse Y, in case I can find two outlets on different legs. Obviously I will have to be selective with what i turn on.

But my question is this.

My boat has an Iso-Boost isolation transformer. Can I connect to a single 125V outlet?

Greg - I have the same electrical set up as you do. I had a marine electrician install a single 30 amp shore outlet on my stern next to my 50 amp outlet. My thought was if I was at a marina and could not get 50 amp service, I could at least run the 120 ac on my 120 panel. this has worked out fine. I am not an electrician and I also have the iso-transformer and my 30 amp setup has worked fine.

Greg,

Do you have an iso-boost or and iso-transformer... they are different...

Gary,

It is a Charles Industries IsoBoost50. It is an isolation transformer, with boost capability. The boost is really just another tap on the secondary of the transformer with a few extra turns. When it see's low line voltage, it switches to the boost mode. You probably have the same thing, no?

In researching it further, I can not connect it to just one leg. I may make a cable to at least give me 120 on the boat, but I won't have A/C.

Mine does not have the "boost"... that must have been added by your previous owners... Mine is just the isolation transformer... Being at crappy marinas with poor power, I wish I had the boost model.
