Hi, I have a 96 Sundancer 250 with a Quicksilver 3000 classic shifter. It needs to be replaced but it's no longer available as far as I can see.

What unit will replace it? This one has trim up down, and trailer button. I dont want to spend 5-6 hundred. Just something comparable.

I plan on swapping cables too.

As long as you have room you can use any make or model. Mine was a lot more than $600 but the process is the same. Find the unit you think you might like. Get the measurements from the manufacturer along with a mounting template. Dont order cables until you have the shifter installed. Then take measurements according to the new installation. I went to separate throttle and shift. A huge improvement over the single lever. Here are the before and after photos

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread. However, I have the quicksilver shifter pictured here, it has trim/tilt in the center of the shifter knob, and trailer up separate from shifter. My shifters seems really sloppy to put in neutral to fire up the motor. Is this a rebuild issue? And can I swap out to the first quicksilver picture handle in this post, that looks more an "L", if that makes sense, which I like better than my "knob" style?
Thanks
