Good day.
I have a shifting problem with my 230CC 1991 5.7V8 Alpha one Gen II.
At the ship I completely reconstructed the engine and Z-drive.
After launching on the water everything was about 5 moto hours OK.
Then suddenly the reverse gear shifted to neutral, but only with the engine running. The shift lever only partially goes to the front position and then the reverse lever jumps, but due to the lever position it immediately shifts forward. When the engine is off, it can be shifted back, back to neutral without problems. (propeller rotates beautifully in neutral position)
Does anyone know what it can be ???

Sounds like a broken shift cable at the drive.

Best of luck and welcome to CSR!

That probably won't be it. When the engine is off, the shift is working.
