Looking for input regarding shift cable replacement. My starboard cable is very hard to move compared to my Port side and seems to be getting more difficult as time goes on. Has anyone replaced such a cable and if so can you pass on along input? One would think you could snake one to another...... if things normally went as good as logic tells you they should.

Looking for advice.

Thanks in advance

Have you looked at cleaning and lubing the ends as they slide in and out of the cable? My strb one was the difficult one. I cleaned up this part at the tranny end and lubed with some spray silicone and it works much better.

As for running a new cable, I just had my boat ripped apart to run new stereo wiring from the electical panel up to the helm. Not a fun project.

I will check it out and try to clean up the ends. We are making a trip this weekend and bought as new cable "JUST IN CASE" to keep on board. I went looking for the path it may take yesterday.....

And it did not look good. Thanks for your suggestion!
