Hi, I am a first time boat owner. Just bought a 1989 searay 200 bowrider that has been sitting for about 5 years.
I have found that the shift cable between the linkage on top of the motor and the outdrive appears to be froze up.
From the world of youtube it looks like I need to pull the outdrive off. My question is all the videos I have seen talk about making sure the transmission is in forward when you pull it apart. Right now it is locked in the neutral position, is this going to be an issue?
Any other ideas to free this up before I pull this apart?
