sharpie how to remove

Bob I bought from cooper capital and they have a different style off auction. it was listed for 8k and didn't sell than again for 5 and didn't sell. they listed for a minim bid of 1k. that's when I really started looking at it. you put a bid on the boat and everything is sealed they let you know at the end of the week who has the high bid. I was such a panicky Pete I put so many bids in. I kept probably bidding against my self. It ended at Friday night at midnight I was at the movies with my Fiancée we were watching the Millers waiting for the movie to start I put in one more bid of 3400. I got an email Monday morning that its mine I need to pay for it in a wire transfer and have it moved in ten days. I spent about 300 on two used alt and one sea water pump. I found a used set of props on cl for 200. the fridge was the biggest expense found that for 400. the camper I was told was destroyed by the storm. the canvas guy charged me 150 to replace two zippers and its good. I just bought some waterproof spray due to it leaks. the old owner set it wasn't used for two years due to his age. the motor run fine port gets a little hot I think I need to change the impeller. the generator had some saltwater splash in the dist. I had to replace those parts it was so hard getting them from westerbeek the module was $1000. once I learned it was a Mitsubishi motor I went to them with the dist. they told me its a Mazda dist. they tracked it down to a car that never came to USA I went to ebay of Japan and found the module and part number. put the part numbers to rock auto and found it for 14 bucks it same used in a dodge minvan. Now the generator starts and runs fine.

$3400? And I thought I got my boat in a steal! From the pics it's a nice looking boat

Thanks.
I was glowing for the first month. Who I'm kidding I still Iam I can't get over how it rides and handles so much better than my 31

When I bought my 390 six years ago, I jumped up from a 29' Chris Craft. Initially, all of that extra boat out in front of the helm was a bit intimidating. You soon get over that though.

40' would be my next step towards my end goal of 50+. I was scared to death of my 30' after being out of boating for 10years, even back then I had a 26' Sundancer with a single I/O. Folks here as well as my dock neighbors helped me get past my fears of slamming her into the dock. I still have a great deal to learn. I love the old Sea Ray's they are a heavy (fat) boat, I had a chace to run an old 34' she got up and settled so fast it made me wat to trade that day. Sure, we don't have all the frills of the newer Sea Ray's but we do have one of the best boats on the market, then and now

I went from a 26 -30 with twin big blocks that I thought was huge learning how to handle twins and docking. the 39 handles so easily and gets on plane so quickly.... Ken I have to say I'm so curios what that extra tab will do???? God knows being divorced I couldn't afford a new one lol... thanks god I'm in such a happier place now...... Dw I remember having the same feeling after having the I/o all my people around me would watch me dock I would make my U-turn in front of my spot and be a good ten feet away from the dock.... my 31 made me nervous due to as you drive you can look down and see through the port cabin windows and see the water splash up. I'll try to post some pics of the bow. they wrote in sharpie their asset number on it I tried so hard to get it off. ill have to wait till spring when I take it out of the water to scrub it again.

I can only say, WOW what a buy even if you need to spend a few more boat bucks. Congrads!

Thanks. My friends were telling me to flip it. All I kept think was why??? I don't think I'll ever get a better deal. I guess that's how much I enjoy boating.

I received an email today from yacht salvage that a boat I saw over the summer they plan auctioning off. It's a 1994 330da. It has twin 454 that water went into the exhaust. Both motors were stuck I took the plugs out of one motor and water ran out. I walked away after. It was a shame. They looked so nice.

Theirs slao lap another site. Us auctions

WOW that was a steal even if you end up putting some money in the boat! On the sharpie, have you tried Goof Off or Goo Gone? I've soaked a rag with it and attached it to a verticle surface with tape and let it soak. Sunlight will fade it eventually. I use a sharpie to mark the alignment of my DirecTV dish in the spring and its usually gone by late summer. I'd save the sanding and agressive compounding for a last resort. How big of an area are we talking about on the bow?

Sorry it so long. U can see writing on bottom it's on both sides. It is starting to fade. I'm also trying to get rid of sticker resado. I did try goof off. With no luck.

We use fingernail polish remover to get rid of sharpe righting on telco blocks, the original works the best.

i wonder if the sun will bleach it out....the UV rays in the sunlight do pretty good job over time bleaching stains out of cockpit vinyl.....

It did start to fade. I'm still trying to deal with the do not board stickers that were on transom. I tried goof off and wd40 to no avail

Try a blow dryer and heat the glue up then a nylon scrubby. Be very careful using this trick, we use this on difficult glue problems on glass. The heat loosens up the glue and the scrubby will remove it. Another trick is dry ice, but I would try it on fiberglass

i would try acetone.....it is a pretty powerful solvent that will not hurt the gelcoat.....that is about as strong of a solvent i would try....

Goof off (or Goo be gone?), acetone, finger nail polish (with acetone in it), WD-40. All of these WILL work. Just have to give it more time. I usually use acetone or the Goo stuff, myself. I assume the residue is pretty thick... Saturate a rag and hold the rag in contact with the residue for a few minutes. Then scrape off what you can with your finger nail or a plastic razor blade. Then keep using a new part of the rag since it will get clogged with residue. Don't use paper towels - takes much longer.

Did you try any of the other things I, or others, mentioned above regarding the sharpie?
