I'd guess that some of this has been posted on CSR in the past, but I thought it may be helpful for others to re-post anyway.

I imagine like many owners who are new to shaft driven props, I didn't understand how the whole shaft log / dripless seal system worked. I've read a bunch, but nothing made me understand the system as well as the installation video at the PSS website found here: http://www.shaftseal.com/en/about/installation_videos_pss_small_shaft_seals

After watching the video, I can say that "I get it" now.

These videos are available on Youtube too. As well, I found other videos on the Tides product, but found the PSS version to be the most informative for me.

Hello Two Peas,

You don't have the PSS system on your 360 I think.
I know the Tides system is different, so you have to study this one.

Most of the time your Sea Ray also has extra Spare Seal Carriers mounted on your shafts.

I think the PSS product is better, but than you have to buy a complete new system.

Peter.

Thanks Peter. I appreciate your help. I found that the PSS video showed me how the whole thing functioned though in relation to the transmission and the hole in the bottom of the boat. Seeing the "breakaway" setup PSS used to make the video helped me understand the different components and how everything functioned to keep the water out of the engine room.

Having even that basic understanding helps me to understand the Tides system better now.

Cheers.
