I have my sea ray in pittsburg CA. I have been unsuccessful in finding anyone to help with minor boat repairs. Things like helping install a davit, wiring, replacing hoses, etc. there are people to contact, but everyone is a flake. Can someone recommend a person to help me? Thanks.

JamesBay; That is the bane of marine repair. There are countless flakes. We are on our 3rd larger boat, and the number of people I have used that I would recommend is pretty small. I would figure someone must have a guy up near the delta loop. This is probably a good place to try but I would also ask your local Harbor Master, or see if someone at the Pittsburg YC has a local referral. People I would recommend: D&R Marine, in Rodeo, took care of our Mercury outboard, and was awesome. For electrical/electronics LTD Marine, in Alameda, did fantastic work for us installing an autopilot. Marine Service Corps (Rich) for Pump out services. Marine Lube for 'polishing' diesel fuel and steam cleaning services. Swedish Marine did some good refrigeration work for us but do not expect him to be on any kind of schedule. We have most of our major work done at KKMI in Richmond. The work has always been pricey but acceptable. The front office girls are great, and several of the techs are exemplary. Both the service writers, I have worked with, were very knowledgeable. You need to have your ego intact going in. Owners of multi-million dollar yachts did not get where they are by writing blank checks with no estimate. You are not less of a mariner, or a less savvy owner, for insisting on work updates and pricing updates as the jobs progress. That said, I have always felt confident in the work done and swallowed the pricing accordingly (This goes along with the 'pay for the best and you only cry once' philosophy). Hopefully, some of the Delta guys will respond with some better/closer suggestions.

I have used Performance Marine Specialties located at 135 Lauritzen lane in Oakley, right next to the Antioch bridge. Owners name is Henri and
have had him do many repairs to my boat over the past 5 years. There is a guest dock at Lauritzen yacht harbor that he will use while working
on your boat. His phone numbers are 925-757-8285 or 925-756-7169.
Hope this helps.

Two for you. One is Jason Felix (Seatech Marine, 510-314-7641) and the other is Kelvin Jackson (916-870-8733). Both are independent, know Sea Rays and I would recommend them.
