how's it going everyone. first off love the site. I have a 1985 Seville 16" BR with a 3.0 omc I/O with a sterndrive setup in the rear. I have looked on every site even ebay trying to find parts for this boat, or even pics of my boat that people have or even worked on. Is my boat only made one year? and a limited number of them? or did i buy a POS. Any imput would be great.

Thanks
Mike

This is a good boat if you do the maintenance. OMC had a problem with the outdrives for a period from the mid 1980's to early 1990's. They offerd to replace the shift cable from the shift mechanism to the outdrive. If your cable is red, you have the new cable. They also replaced the drive gears with gears that were set at a different angle but most people well tell you that this was unnecessary if the red cable was installed.

The one thing you need to do at the beginning of every boating season is to re-set the shift mechanism to the proper specifications. It takes about 30 minutes. You need the proper instructions to do this. Go to this site for more information:

This site will give you a bunch of information about OMC along with the adjustment procedures

This boat performs very well. It is very economical to run.
