Well guys/gals its with great regret that I make this announcement. As many of you know I had a serious health scare twice over the last 4 years.
Although I feel much better I just can not physically/financially/mentally take care of the 450 DA. I just got back from 10 days of cleaning etc... the boat and it just wore
me out. It hurt thinking and seeing how the boat had been unused for the last 4 years. After much talk and deliberation the wife and I came to the same
conclusion, it was time to let her go for a good price to some body that can bring her up to snuff and really enjoy her. The boat has been untouched and not moved in a little over 4 years with all the maintenance deferred. She will need a serious wax job and all the maintenance brought up to date (change oil, filters, impellers, zincs, clamps, clean heat ex changers, transmission cooler's, coolant, transmission fluids, new shaft seals, same for generator, check trim tabs, fuel and tank polished, etc...) in other words the boat needs to be extensively gone over. The windshield has developed a leak and the gasket needs to be removed and the screws removed, then 3m 4000 applied and screws/gasket put back in place. The headliner under the leak needs to be fixed. As I cleaned the boat I noticed a small area around the Galley hatch area felt bouncy or soft. I had never noticed that before. The bottom has not been scrapped in 13 months and the last bottom job was in April 2012. It will need hauled out pressure washed and new paint along with everything checked, along with new zincs, etc... The electronics are original. I never used them as i used 3 Garmin chart plotters on bean bags for navigation.
The engines all started this year as well as the generator. Last week the port engine clicked a bunch before it would start. This happened to me in 2012 in the Bahamas and i tightened the screws in the junction box and battery and it went away till now. Not sure what that is. The engine water pumps have not been changed since 2007. They will need replaced.
The boat will be sold AS IS/WHERE IS with no warranty given or any warranty implied. The boat will be listed in CSR classified tonight and Wednesday will be listed on
ebay with a $48,000.00 starting NO RESERVE bidding auction for 2 weeks. In other words any bid over $48,0000 will have a chance to buy this boat. I will reserve the right to stop the auction for any reason during all listings.
I took over 300 pictures last week. I have put them on google drive here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5aZw788n8LBMHlHbXQxZHhyZjg&usp=sharing Thanks, JC
