Hello,

We are a family of French navigators (www.jeanfrancoisdine.eu).

We make the around the world.

Now, we are in the Illinois river and we seek a marina not expensive, and close a small town on Tennessee river. Because we need an address to receive the schoolbooks of our two children. (we need the marina in tenesseee river because in the Illinois Rivers it is cold in november...)

You know a marina like that ?

Thank you,

Jean-François Diné

Jean, Somebody will chime in and help you here. But, Go to SSCA Discussion board and ask this question as well. Also Great Loop board will certainly have some great advice. Good Luck, JC

Try posting in the midstates catagory, also send a pm to searay40dad,he seams to know a lot about the tennessee.

jfd, whats your eventual desitination on this leg of your trip--to the Tennessee, then on to the Gulf? I'd probably atleast try to get to Picwick Lake which is about mile marker 205 or so down the Tennessee. you might look at Grand Harbor or Aqua Yacht Harbor although they may not be the cheapest places. They are both located close to where you cut off the Tennessee to the TEnn-Tom Waterway if you're hading to the Gulf. Aqua has pretty good service dept. You'll be about 450 miles from the Gulf.

You"ll still have some pretty cold months though. There certainly are plenty of smaller and cheaper marinas below or above Pickwick.. JC3 has some good advice too...
