On my 550 sedan bridge I want to remove the back rest on the bench seat in the cock pit. I don't see any bolts or nuts to fasten the back in place. Looks like it is held on with what I call Christmas tree fasteners, similar to what is used on automotive interiors. Can somebody confirm this before I just try to pull it loose? Thank you.

Don’t know about the 550, but in our 44, there were 4-6 screws accessed through the transom locker and the rest were the Christmas Tree fasteners. About 1/2 of the fasteners broke off. I just pushed the 1/2 in the gelcoat on through and the upholsterer removed the ones in the backrest.

Thanks for the info Bennett. I will take a harder look for the screws.
