Searching for sandbars and restaurants

I know the boating season is coming to an end here in Minnesota, however, I just bought my 1st boat this year and enjoyed boating along the Mississippi in and around the St. Cloud area. We found a nice sandbar and met some great people.

I would love to find out some new spots in (MN,WI,SD,ND,IA) with good sandbars and/or restaurants to enjoy and meet new people.
Any suggestions??

Welcome to the board! Glad to see another Mississippi boater on board. Your a bit past my boating area but if you ever get down river into pool 26 look us up I can show you around down here.

It has a lot of info for your waters on river related festivals and restraunts for your area. Quimby's is a good reference for marina locations.

I'm 10 locks south of you in pool 10. We have a lot of sandbars down here. In a few weeks pool 9 and 10 should have quite a leaf color display, unless Mother Nature changes her mind!

If you ever make it down as far as Dubuque, IA Catfish Charlie's restaurant at the Dubuque Yacht Basin is a great place to grab some food and a drink or two. The Mississippi River museum in Dubuque is also kind of an interesting place to stop off at as well, especially if you have children.

If you feel like going even further down river, just north of Bellevue, IA is a nice sandbar that has gotten very popular ove rthe last 10 years or so. Decent water, and right off of the main channel.
