I'm getting ready to purchase a SeaLift platform for my 420DA, looking at the 10'6" x 4' model with the fiberglass platform that has the pop-up chocks to hold the dinghy. I have read some of the older threads and seems that everyone that had them liked this model.
Anyone still using one of these and any recommendations ?

Thanks

That will make a great addition to your boat Jeff. You will love it and use your dinghy more than ever. I can't comment on SeaLift in particular, but did you get a quote from Florida Bow Thruster? They did my lift this past spring and I'm still amazed with the quality of their job and the crew that did the install.

I have checked just about every company offering swim platforms and narrowed it down to SeaLift. Another reason I am installing a hydraulic platform is because we have a daughter with special needs and it's hard to get her in and out of the water. I was planning on driving down to Florida around Christmas and bring the platform back with me in a trailer. Installation looks pretty simple and plan on that in the spring when the boat gets out of storage, the marina mechanic said he would help if needed.

We have that exact sealift on our 410. Love it! Best part is sitting in chairs with feet in water up to your calves. Love the extra room too!

Jeff, what's the price tag on that if you pick it up and install it? They told me out the door about $20,000.

With a 2k discount it is about 19,500. It's a lot of money but I feel it will help us enjoy the boat more. I was thinking about upgrading all the electronics and that was going to close to that amount but my electronics get me where I need to go just fine.

Given the choice between the two, the platform is more bang for the buck IMO.

Well I finally had my new SeaLift hydraulic lift installed now we just need some warm weather so I can enjoy it.
had a video but could not upload:smt021

I'm impressed they were able to engineer it with just one hydraulic ram. What is weight rating for the platform?

Very nice install.

I have the SeaLift on my 410. One ram. Mine is rated for 750lbs before it changes the performance of the boat. The shorter the boat the less weight rating and visa versa. It lifts a 11ft 25hp center console at 475lbs. No issue lifting or changes to performance. Full fuel, water and Dink and the boot stripe is still above the water line. This also includes 400lbs of house batteries between the 8.1s. 3400rpm = 23.5 mph/.73 mpg is what I got this past weekend. I know, more than was asked but good info to share.

The one hydraulic ram is what I liked about this lift, designed for boats 40' - 70' range. SeaLift USA makes dual ram lifts for larger boats also. The website claims that the single ram unit will like 2500 lbs, don't think I'll have any issues with my 300lb Dinghy.

Looks great, Jeff! You will love having that!! Btw check your prop nuts before you launch. Can't tell for sure in the picture but it looks like they're on in the wrong order (looks like thinner nut is on last).

Great pics. Q. The carpet on the swim platform. Where did you find that or was it something you had made?

C
I bought that from someone on this boating forum, Fastphil was his name, don’t know if he is still around, he made it for his 420DA and didn’t like the color, think it is SeaDeck.

Don't know if everyone knows this but Freedomlift owns Sealift and both are finding the best of both worlds with their independent designs. I've been looking at a Freedomlift for my 52DB and as it ends up a Sealift single cylinder hydraulic system is used but the structure is modified for the Freedomlift davits. The big difference for my application is the entire structure will be stainless steel whereas the Freedomlift system is aluminum. The integrated swim platform on the 52 is not compatible with the Freedomlift design so that is why they are using the proven Sealift structure. The down side is they are telling me it will be over 30 boat bucks and no swim platform.....

I just went thru this exercise quoting:
Sealift $33.5K incld installation ($4k)
TNT $31.9k I find an installer
FL Bow Thruster $35k with Install included
I cant get my head around these prices but $19,500 I could...can you tell me which model, options accesories were included... I would install my self to save the $4k as well

DAMNIT....I just saw the post was from 2016... that was a let down :( I was all frickn excited

I don’t believe there was a model number, custom made to fit my boat.
I originally thought of installing it myself, couldn’t bring myself to drilling twenty + holes in my boat, came shipped in two enormous crates, unloaded with my forklift but had to get creative with straps. Bet they had a few hundred in just creating material, they charged me 2K to ship it.
Not trying to talk you out of it, this lift is by far the best addition ever made to the boat.
One thing, I wish it would drop a few inches lower, with three people in the dinghy it’s hard to get off the chocks.
