Looks awesome but did they forget to put the border around the port-side blow hole? One of the blow-holes has a border and the other doesn't????

Hi, not sure what you're looking at. Both port holes are identical. What do you mean by border?

I see it now! How did I miss that! So many lines.

Update: TTCustomMarine sent me a new sheet free of charge and I was able to replace it.

All,

Good info and also looking into teak decking.

Boar4Life,
I also talked to Travis at TT. He's sending me samples of PlasDeck. Didn't know he sold AquaTrac and need to find out the difference. Did he mention PlasDeck to you?

In my shopping, I've considered the following, with comments.

PlasDeck (Looks like GREAT product, and US made, OEM for several new boats)
NuTeak (Sounds good, but need more info, and 15 yr warranty), just got sample and looks good.

======
Dek King (Has wrong number posted on their web site!)
Flexiteak and Isiteek (no one has called back yet), but popular.
SeaDeck (Has melting problems, poor dealer service, no good)

So right now, I'm down to PlasDeck or NuTeak, unless more info comes in, leaning toward PlasDeck.

Thoughts?

I was originally going to get SeaDeck, however, the price was ridiculously high. I did not know about the melting issue. I went with AquaTrac as it was the most affordable and much more durable then SeaDek. He has two versions, Original Aquatrac – hard texture, and Soft-Aquatrac – SeaDeck like but with a PVC Coating for the Brown or Grey teak (much more durable then SeaDek). TTCustommarine customer service was fantastic. The pad took about 3 weeks to come in. The replacement pad came in 3 days after speaking to Travis about the issue I had.

Best investment on my boat.

SeaRay installs Seadek on their new boats. The "melting" problem must be rare since there must be thousands of boats with Seadek. Searay does a good job at selecting what vendors and materials to use on their boats.

Good point but PlasDeck is OEM for Intreped, Chaparell, Boston Whaler, Formula and more. Not exactly low end boats. And they are US manufactured and don't have any melting issues. Just saying....

And I'm still shopping but PlasDeck and NuTeak are high on my list. I emailed Travis about Aquatrac, no reply yet. But he originally was selling the PlasDECK product to me.

We'll see......

I've been investigating options for replacing my cabin flooring in my Searay Sundancer 280. I'm glad I came across this thread.

After going through this thread, it seems AquaTrek is the way to do. My notes from the thread: Thinner than SeaDeck. Has adhesive backing, easy to install. Contact Travis at http://ttcustommarine.com/. Check new version AquaTrac - Soft.

Did anyone look at Isiteek? I just got samples from them, very realistic to real teak, but I think it needs professional install.

Does anyone have experience installing any of these materials on a vertical surface and then transitioning to horizontal? In my cabin, there are two levels with a 6" vertical riser. Also I have two steps that are currently wrapped in vinyl.

There two posts were very helpful, thanks!

Calling Travis today.

From RollerCoastr:

The product seems more durable than I expected. I have samples of Seadek, but I decided that I have too much traffic for a foam product to withstand. I don't have a dog, but it's not unusual to have 3 different dogs visit over a wkd. I like the padding of Seadek, but fear that the first un-groomed dog nail would rip right through it.

Aquatrac is is much more firm. It has the raised texture of Seadek, but the surface hardness is more akin to a Plasteak/Nuteak material. Travis said he had pre-made templates for my boat, and he offered to send me paper versions to inspect.

From Boat4Life:
After two weeks of discussing options and templates with Travis I have ordered AquaTrac. My original purchase was going to be SeaDek, however they wanted double $ for their product in Teak so I did not go through with it. Definitely ask for samples, you want to touch and feel his product. It is much more durable feeling ("Hard") compared to what you would thing a foam could be. I didn't get my samples until after a week, shipment issues with local Post Office. There is a new type of AquaTrac called, AquaTrac - Soft. This is definitely much softer then his Original AquaTrac. At first I was hooked on the Original type, but the Soft was so durable even compared to SeaDek. The foam didn't dent, didn't rip, didn't shave off! And it was soft, bear feet on this stuff would be amazing! So, I went with it and ordered it. Once I receive the material and install it, I will be posting my installation and final look on here. Look out for it around Mid April 2016.

I have looked at both products. Inhave some SeaDek installed on my boat bridge stairs. My dog goes up and down all day long. Either product is good, SeaDek does remain cooler if exposed to sun.

I have SeaDek on all three levels of my 400EC. It is light gray in color. It has been on there for almost 5 years and looks great. Very soft on the feet. Not hot. I do see a little shrinkage but really very little. Everyone that come on the boat loves it.
I want to do my cockpit and the cabin (removing the carpet). My concern with the cockpit is sliding my seats around when I need to work in the engine room or remove an engine, God forbid that happens. I am concerned that the slide might tear it up. Any thoughts on that?

After having the AquaTrac for exactly a year now...the edges are starting to pull up just a little due to shrinkage. We have the brown over black(teak look)and the one thing that I did not think would be as bad as it is-HOT! On a 95* day on the water, you can come up the ladder, step on it with wet feet, and see the steam rising immediately. Step on it barefooted and it is close to black asphalt. I have not put my temp gun on it yet, but it is brutally hot. I am sure a lighter color would be much more forgiving. I would never do my cockpit in the brown over black.

Just my $0.02...

I was considering installing one of these products on my swim platform but decided against it for exactly this reason....the summer sun can heat things up quickly......the OEM white non-skid on the platform stays cool......

Agree with the heat issue on Aquatrack. I have to splash water on it before going barefoot. Since it's the swim platform I'm ok with it. But if this was installed deck side I'd remove it by now. Too hot for bare feet. I hope this lasts another two seasons. I'll post pictures this season once I'm on the water to compare it from when I first got it.

Wondering if you got Aquatrac and if you can share any photos.
