Does anyone have experience or knowledge of AquaTrac faux teak foam decking? I have read many opinions here on SeaDek but nothing on other EVA foam products. I have learned unlike Seadek which is a thick layer of EVA foam, AquaTrac is a thinner layer of EVA foam with a PVC topsheet. The PVC top provides some significant
advantages; shrinkage, fading, tearing....

My Aqua Trac was ordered and purchased through Ttcustommarine.com. Travis, the owner, is great to work with. I installed it on my swim platform and walk through and we love it. 3M adhesive backed like SeaDek and took all of 30 mins to install. I chose it over SeaDek for the reasons you list. Call TT Custom Marine and SeaDek and get samples of each to make your decision. He will most likely have your template already.

You can PM me with an email address for pics.

I sent an inquiry to Travis after reading Bennett's recommendation in another thread. He sent free samples immediately, which I almost feel guilty about, so I'll continue to praise his customer service.

The product seems more durable than I expected. I have samples of Seadek, but I decided that I have too much traffic for a foam product to withstand. I don't have a dog, but it's not unusual to have 3 different dogs visit over a wkd. I like the padding of Seadek, but fear that the first un-groomed dog nail would rip right through it.

Aquatrac is is much more firm. It has the raised texture of Seadek, but the surface hardness is more akin to a Plasteak/Nuteak material. Travis said he had pre-made templates for my boat, and he offered to send me paper versions to inspect.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, Travis and I have corresponded and I agree that their promptness has been fantastic. The firmness difference is the one comparison I didn't consider. We'll have both people and dog traffic, so without seeing either product after 3+ years of seasonal traffic wear and tear....will be hard to know impact.

After two weeks of discussing options and templates with Travis I have ordered AquaTrac. My original purchase was going to be SeaDek, however they wanted double $ for their product in Teak so I did not go through with it. Definitely ask for samples, you want to touch and feel his product. It is much more durable feeling ("Hard") compared to what you would thing a foam could be. I didn't get my samples until after a week, shipment issues with local Post Office. There is a new type of AquaTrac called, AquaTrac - Soft. This is definitely much softer then his Original AquaTrac. At first I was hooked on the Original type, but the Soft was so durable even compared to SeaDek. The foam didn't dent, didn't rip, didn't shave off! And it was soft, bear feet on this stuff would be amazing! So, I went with it and ordered it. Once I receive the material and install it, I will be posting my installation and final look on here. Look out for it around Mid April 2016.

Awesome - I'm eager to hear your impressions. What colors did you go with? I prefer the look of teak and "holly", but fear that the light-colored crevices will show a lot of dirt. The teak with black seems like a safer bet.

I went with the Brown Teak on Black.

I liked the Teak/Holly look as well, but had the same concerns. The Teak/Black has worked out perfectly.

Definitely warmer than the white fiberglass or carpet. However, it is not like it burns or anything. Splash a little water on it or climb up the swim ladder and you are good to go. It might be considered uncomfortable in August when the temps are pushing in the upper 90s at noon. I had samples of SeaDek and Aqua Trac and ran some simple tests and there was basically no temp difference after setting in the sun for 30 minutes.

Bennett, sorry if you had posted pics of the AquaTrac on your 260...I looked but couldn't find any. If you have some please point me there. Worried that the dark teak will look too dark with my white hull. Like others who responded here, I prefer the teak/holly look.

PM me an email address and will send the pics. The teak color is the same-the holly or black grooves between the "boards" is what is different.

Have you asked Travis for samples? It's completely different then SeaDek.

Same happened to me. He's only getting busier. The Original Aquatrac is hard, very durable, almost like synthetic teak. But the soft, is real nice and it's only been out 2 months. At first I did not like it. I wasn't liking how the black foam looked. You'll see what I mean when you get the samples. But after a week of comparing the samples and discussing it with the wife we decided on the soft. We loved the texture feeling of it and you'd be surprised how durable it was. It wouldn't chafe or stretch. It definitely is more durable then Sea Dek. The look of the foam was only noticeable if you looked at it from 2 feet away. Can't wait to get it.
Imagine may not show details. Original is brown team, soft is grey treak

Well I have made 4 calls, 3 requests for samples, and 2 emails to TTCustomMarine over the last 3 weeks and still have nothing to show for it.. This is getting frustrating. They also have my templates i made.
