Does anyone know where the sea water temperature sensor is located that is part of the system view? With chartplotter on, the sea temp reads out on the system view. With the chartplotter off I get a very inaccurate temp reading.
I am sure that we used to be able to read sea temp before with only the system view on.
Our mechanic was working on the starboard PCM last year and this spring; is there a connection between the two or a connector that can be undone??
Thanks in advance

The temperature sensor is almost always part of the depth transducer. While I believe Smartcraft can accept a direct input from a depth transducer, I think it's more usual for this instrument's data to be routed to the navigation system and from there sent along with all the other navigation info to Smartcraft; otherwise you could not get depth/temperature on the chartplotter since the NMEA connection is one-way. That would explain why you don't get goo info unless the chartplotter is on. The transducer can be wired direct to a NMEA input on your chart plotter or other networked instrument but in my case, it is routed through a Raymarine NMEA multiplexer box that consolidates depth and some other inputs.
