Sea Water Pump Assembly / Fuel Pump

I need to replace part
Mercury Mercruiser Marine - PUMP ASY-SEAWATER (#46-807151A8) (97 7.4L)
but I was hoping not to pay over $700. I've found one less than half from a place called The Ropshop. Its a complete assembly and new but manufactured in China. I was just wondering if anyone has used this particular part and it they'd had any problems. Vendor says only 1 warranty claim out of 132 sold this year.

Can your current one be rebuilt? If not, you could replace it with a SS unit from Hardin Marine and not worry about it again.

I haven't got the old one out yet as it failed and spewed gear lube on the way to winter storage about 3 miles from the marina. I'll know once I get it out. I do like the ones from Hardin though. Don't know why I hadn't come across those in my search. Thanks for the tip!

I believe they do. This is from their site. I have the Gen 7.

You can also rebuild them if a bearing goes out from a worn seal.
