Sea trial

Low drive lube.......There are numerous potential issues here.

Could be as innocent as a little air purging from the system which is common after servicing the drive lube, to something major like leaking seals and big $$$
He said they just serviced them before putting in the water. Waiting to hear back from broker on sellers next step to either fix what is needed or not.

Are these codes a common issue with all sea rays?
Are the sensor/wiring a common problem
I/O all new to me.

Those codes are nothing... Does it still run well at WOT ? How clean were the motors ?

We didn't go out on it because the water circulator pump was leaking and manifolds were hot Could not keep hands on it when started at the dock surveyor recommend this getting taking care of before we go further. Thinking manifilds, risers, pumps and thermostats need replacing

Here is pics of data on port

sea trial did not happen today :( it was a poor presentation of a boat ready to go.
started up port engines alarms going off trim error code first thing. and 7 or 8 active fault codes on both engines nothing in red or yellow ( waiting for report from him) port water circulation pump leaking, all 4 manifolds and spacers can not touch by hand engines running on dock. the starboard thermostat housing hot can't touch. power steering reservoir close to empty
hot water tank not hooked up and bottom rusted. no fresh water in tank to test system. boat was dirty on top.
also hrs run at full throttle was 13hrs is this high or normal on a boat with 290 hrs.?? we stopped there and told the broker to tell the seller to have the engines serviced by a merc service center and correct the above before we go further.
I woke up with a great high with a plan of driving this home on Friday to aggg. and I don't even own a boat yet lol. is the above a big deal? is it costly? Should I walk away from this.
They didn't even bother to make sure it was ready enough to run for the sea trial. The data printouts show questionable WOT hrs, engine over revs, and engine overheat. I'd walk.

update for everyone, we are now owners of a searay!! we told the broker to replace manifolds, risers, sea pumps, themostats, belts all merc. parts service all fluids, clean it up and hot water tank over 10k spent ( I couldn't let it go. so we proceeded to move forward. sea trail went great. compression tests was great on starboard
160-170 same with port 165-175 psi but cyl. 1 had 60psi checked it out it was a hanging intake valve... its fixed and psi is 170. do valves hang up alot in marine engines?
we are pumped we are doing a total deep cleaning on her this week maybe tune it up. a few things needed speedometer not working and trim sensors. gauges are stuck at 25 and up. now to learn how to drive this more docking this twin engine beast.
first time 2 engines and this is big from a 16ft. cc..

Congrats - that's quite a move up from a 16'CC

yes this has been a dream of ours for a while. we always loved the looks of the sundancers

One major benefit of surveys is that they act as a check and balance of our emotions. It is incredibly easy to overlook issues in the excitement of a sea trial or to explain away possibilities. You are already doing so. "if there were low compression, it would be obvious". That's exactly the type of rationalization that surveys are intended to guard against.

Congratulations! Getting a proper survey saved you $10k. Enjoy the summer! Lots of pictures too. Helps us get through the winter.
