Sea Rays on Sebago?

My brother in law has a Chaparral up there on Sebago Lake. Ive been up there only once and wow is it beautiful. I hope that next year i'll be bringing up my boat for a week or so of vacationing on the water with the family. I'll definitely let you know if and when i do that :)

Mike

Well, if you do Mike, definitely look me up. My marina occasionally has slips available for guests, but not all the time. There are several beautiful places to anchor off overnight if you're not staying at your brother in law's.

Do you remember where on the lake you brother in law's place is? I wonder if I've been by there.

Best regards,

Bill

I'll definitely look you up WHEN i go up there next year! I'm not familiar enough with the lake to know where he is on it. I do know that where the Marina he uses to load and unload the boat is on the opposite side of the lake from where his house is. Not sure if that helps at all...

We did several trips this year where we used transiet slips at different Marinas. Sure is a great way to see a lot of different places. Cant wait for next year :)

Sea Ray On Sebago 220 SD

We're on Sebago - May 1 to October 15 we are out there in our 2004 Sea Ray 220 SD the "Three Oars". We have a slip over in Witches Cove right next to the entrance of Muddy River. Perfect boat for this beautiful lake. We have been on the lake for 20 years now but this is our first Sea Ray.

Oh, you must have a place in Lake Sebago Estates?
I'm slipped over in Kettle Cove, and I spend a lot of time hanging out either in front of the Day Beach or off of Third Beach. (depending on the buoy situation, of course)

I'll keep an eye out for you this year.

Questions from a neighboring lake.

Have you Sebago lakers seen an increase in fast loud boats since Winnipesaukee started talking about speed limits? (looks like it will pass this time)

Can you anchor out overnight on Sebago? Can you dump gray water? How tough is it to get a seasonal slip for a mid-size cruiser?

Thanks

I haven't noticed any increase in the loud boats. We've always had a bunch, but I don't find them overly annoying.

You certainly can anchor off overnight in Maine. (I can't for the life of me understand how that silly rule got passed in NH)

Grey water? Kinda a grey area, if you'll pardon the pun. I don't use soap in my sinks, so what goes over isn't sudsy or anything. There's a pumpout station at my marina for the holding tank. There's a waiting list there, but people come and go every year so it can't be that long.

Maybe we'll see you this summer?

Bill

Probably not this summer, I just bought a slip on Winnipesuakee. But there seems to be new rules every time you turn around up there. The speed limit is coming, it doesn't bother me much, my max speed is lower than the limit. But it's just the beginning of a new round of restrictions.

We already have no anchoring overnight. We also have no rafting zones that seem to grow every year, plus they really stepped up enforcement last season. There's been talk of making the whole lake a no rafting zone.

We spent a fair amount of time on Sebago last year and will again this summer (possibly starting on Thursday) This is our first boat... SR 195sport. I have a friend that lives on Kettle Cove year round and has a slip on his association water front. He doesn't even have a boat so I used it a couple times last summer. I'm sure I'' be back there this summer. Can't wait to get on the water!
