Hell to all on the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River. I have seen flotilla’s and rendezvous put together on the upper part of the Chesapeake Bay and due to the distance I am not able to attend. So I was wondering if there was anyone on the mid to lower end of the Bay or Potomac River that would like to have a weekend rendezvous.
If anyone would be interested in this I would be glad to put it together. We could either meet at a location on the Potomac or somewhere lower on the Bay.
I was thinking Colonial Beach if on the Potomac or Chesapeake boat basin at Kilmarnock if on the Bay. Lets get something started around this area.

Depending on dates (and my daughter's new baby due in July), I would be up for a rendezvous. Colonial Beach is easy for me, but Kilmarnock is not out of the question either. Should Deltaville and/or the Tides Inn/Irvington also be included in the options?

Mike

I'm interested
Currently on the rappahanock up river a bit .
Tides inn and or deltaville are great options as well

I am leaning towards Kilmarnock but open to other sugestions. I feel that location would be a good half way point for members on the Potomac or the Rappahannock. It could also pull members from upper and lower Bay areas. It is also reasonably priced for those of us on a limited budget.

I am thinking about early to mid June. Before it get too hot and something to start off the boating season.

Please make comments and suggestions and lets keep this thing going.

Looking at June 13 - 15th as the dates.

Chesepeak Boat Basin is available for that weekend as of now. They can offer our group a rate of $1.50/ft. Electric is $4/day for 30amp and $7/day for 50amp. Additionally, they will also extend an offer of the 3rd night free to anyone in the group that would like it. They have charcoal BBQ's and picnick tables available and a nice lounge with Direct TV. Bathroom/showers are very nice and clean. They also have a van available for our use to go into town if anyone would like to do that.

Check them out at http://www.chesapeakeboatbasin.com

Your input is needed.
Thanks

I"m out that weekend unfortunately.... the location is great, but i have a high school graduation....

Hey this is just my thinking on the dates. It could be the weekend before or the end of May. So Maybe others will chime in and give some suggestions as well. I do know that the weekends after that in June are already booked at this location.

Barry,
You beat me to the punch this year. I will be watching what weekend you settle on for the Potomac / South Bay gathering. Probably not much of a conflict participation-wise, but I had hoped we may get some cross-over participation from the Potomac crowd by land last year.

Have a couple things to iron out next weekend schedule wise and then I'll be looking at dates, and asking if folks want to do another mid/upper bay gathering and where. We had a nice time at Kent Narrows and I would go back there. Could be looking at Herrington, St. Mikes or other destinations as well.

James

James,
I followed the postings last year and when you settled on Kent Narrows it was to far for me to go. I know there is more of a croud up that way but I am hoping to get the lower end people to come together. I used to own a silverton and went to a few rendezous and had a great time. So I am hoping to spark some intrest down here.

Barry

Barry,

We're definitely interested, just have to see on the date. I checked out the Chesapeake Boat Basin and it looks great.

James,

We also may be interested in yours as well depending on timing, etc.

You might want to consider Solomon's, Md which is also accessible fairly easy for a wide group of people as we'll. We had a Yacht club function there this past year with 26 boats making the trip as there are some good facilities there as well as the Tiki Bar. In 2012 we had six boats make it up there for the Boat races in September which was a lot of fun as well.

I did consider Solomons but still would prefer Lower on the bay. Still hoping more folks will chime in and tell if they would go or not.

Still hoping for more interest. Anyone else? Will be splashing in just 2 months so the season is getting closer. Hope everyone is having a good winter even though it has been really cold. Can't wait to get back out on the water.........

Barry

I would love to but it's a 152m trip from me to there. Still I would consider it based upon the dates

Booking the Dates of June 13-15 for the rendezvous. So everyone put it in your calendar and let me know who is coming. I will post a sign up later in the spring.

Barry,

I have it on the calender and have forwarded the info on to several others in our marina to respond if intrested. At this time go ahead and put Gimme Time on board. Before anyone goes to Google Earth be aware that you need to visit their web site for more current pictures as the GE is dated 2007 and does not show the work and improvements the facility has done.

I also want to note to anyone whom hasn't been to the Town of Kilmarnock it is a very nice small town that has done a lot over the years to dressmit up and they should be proud. If you haven't been to the small town it is worth the trip IMHO.

Chesepeak Boat Basin has officially put us on their calander for the weekend of June 13-15th. They will have space for 15 - 20 boats. Their only issue will be how many boats need 50 amp service. they have several with 50 amp and the rest would be twin 30 amp.

For those people that are going or could be going please PM me with Boat length, number of people attending and power requirements. I will begin compiling the attendance list and keep people posted.

Now that things are getting stated, time to think of some activities to do. Any Suggestions? I was thinking about a poker run in town as one activity folowed by a potluck / BBQ. That would give folks a chance to see the town and visit different shops /stores.

Barry

Barry,

I'd suggest you edit your 1/16/14 original post to put the info of whom is going, lenght, beam and power needed so you can post at everyone would have access to see whom is planning to go. I don't know how you'd do a Poker Run to town unless you actually plan to run which is probably to far for many to run so need more info on how that would work as boats can't get to town.

Gimme Time, 420AC, 42', 14'3", 50 or (2) 30's, (4 People), Coming from Deltaville
