Looking for the small middle windshield vent window for 2002-2007 Sea Ray 320 Sundancer. I'm not sure if the 310 is the same size.

Anyone junking/parting out their boat please contact me. Sea Ray will only sell the entire middle window, frame and all. I don't need to spend over $1,250 for the whole window when I only need the small frameless vent window.

I called the manufacture "Taylor Made," and they said they don't have any for sale, and refused to release the specs so I can get one made. I asked/begged 3 times, and no answers after the first refusal.

I asked Sea Ray if the would authorize their dealer if they would split the middle window up, and just sell me the vent window, and again I was told it only comes in full kit.

I don't care if you have one now, or sometime in the near future, please respond, and I will buy it. I'm grounded for the winter anyway, and not planning on relaunching it until sometime in May.

    Thank you.

You might be better off making a template and going to your local glass shop. They can get tempered glass for you.

I wish I could. I'm replacing it because there's no vent window there. Maybe someone who has a 320 can make be a template of their window,

I think he means to make a template out of Masonite or even cardboard and take that to a local shop. You don’t need the original piece to make a template

I thought of that but was told if it's off, it's my problem. The glass itself isn't bad to cut, however, trying to line up the holes for the hinges, and actuator bar without a window is impossible.

Can you post a pic of what you have now? If there is no window there, you can buy an actuator and match the holes to that once you have the correct glass size by dry fitting it. Hinges, same thing.

Make one out of Plexiglass or Lexan that you can get at HD. Then install it as if it were going to be permanent then take your time trimming it until you get it perfect, then remove it and take it to the glass shop.

I may have n choice. However, my first option it to replace it with a real "original" window. I can see if Sea Ray didn't have one available, but to gouge me into purchasing the entire middle window when they can just sell me the glass is a company only looking to grab every penny from you.

He is referring to his OP that they will only sell him the entire window for $1250…. Which the way boats eat money, I didn’t even think about it, I would probably buy it and move on…. Lol

If you look at the parts catalog the middle vent window is small around 15" by 13" or so. There's no frame to it. It's attached the the frame by the swinging hinges. Other than that it's attached to the actuator arm that open and close it then you have the rest of the middle window, frame and all. Just look at page #9. Item# #5 Part #: 1686723

Copy. I already looked it up before I posted. Do you think they should separate the piece of glass you need from a center section assembly and sell it to you?

Yes, absolutely. If it was really one piece then I can see you must purchase the whole middle window. However, a piece of glass that has no frame to it, absolutely. If you dent your front fender and what to replace it, do you think you should have to buy the hood with it even though they're two separate pieces?

They, (O.E manufactures) probably made 600,000 or better fenders for any given car within the years that Sea Ray made that center section for the year/model of your boat and some are still produced by those exact manufacturers not to mention all of the aftermarket fender stamping/junk dealers out there.
You gotta think about how many 320s of your era they made and equate the production cost of that center section all of the way down the line.

I know the market, and know let it be Sea Ray, Toyota, etc. They all make thousands on the original sale. The more expensive the item is the more profit the get. Sounds like you work for Sea Ray? Sea Ray makes a great profit on everything they make. They're one of the few companies that change part numbers to their own. Believe me this isn't my first rodeo. It's like pulling teeth to try to get them to release the actual part manufacture. That window is a great example. Sea Ray doesn't tell you it's made by Taylor Made. If you call Taylor Made, they will give you a completely different part number. The price will be a lot more buying from Sea Ray too.

Anyway, got lost going back and forth with you defending Sea Ray.

If anyone has a vent window, or knows a 320 that's going to get salvaged please contact me.

I replaced my friends window with 1/4" clear Lexan as @techmitch suggested, and you can not tell it was replaced. You need to buff the edges and it comes out perfect.

The windshield glass on my boat says Taylor Made on it.

Great suggestion by techmitch, probably the easiest solution. Get some plexiglass, cut it to fit, you can use the gasket to steer you on size, hold it in place and you should be able to mark the hinge and actuator locations because you're able to see through. You'll have a good template...or get a glass company to come out and do it.

Were I to have this problem, I wouldn’t have thought to contact the manufacturer. I would have gone to a local glass shop for a bespoke panel. That’s what glass shops do.

    Same here.

The energy spent on this so far could have already yielded a new window.

    Zero aggravation too.

Welcome to boating. Hate to tell you but might be the cheapest repair you ever do.
