Good Afternoon all. This is my 1st post and 1st boat ever so I am really anewbie and truely have not been on many. So need info on what would be the standard lights on a Sea Ray SPX 21'. I am surprised I do not have a light on the bimini top\boot, seen many boats with light on top.. Have not been out yet at night but turned navigation lights on last week just after sunrise and really only saw lights on the Hull.

Mine is the basic 19spx, not the select and I only have navigation lights, I do not have courtesy lighting. Your navigation lights will consist of a red/green fwd light and a removable pole with a white light on top that goes into a socket on the gunwal on the stern. This light will come on with navigation and/or anchor lights selected. On my boat this light is stored in the floor ski locker in brackets on the sidewall of the locker.

Thank you very much. I will check today in storage. I am surprised there is no light on top of canvas.

Do you know where the fuse for the anchor light is located? Is the only light on my 2018 19 spx that does work. Or. How you can test the light? Thanks

It would be on the same fuse as the red/green Nav lights so if those are working then it mostly likely isn’t the fuse. The sockets on those stern lights are pretty flimsy in my opinion. I would make sure the pins are not bent and are going into the sockets on the pole. Also check to make sure the wires didn’t get pulled off the socket under the deck.

Thanks I will check that. The red/green are working, just the white one. Trying to find something to test if there are power or not.

Thanks again

If it's a standard bulb, look at it - you can usually tell if it's burnt out. Otherwise, use a voltmeter and check at the pole socket for power. You can also check at the bulb socket. Otherwise, as Jimmy mentioned, check that the sockets and pins are good (visual inspection).

My SPX stern light is huge, and it extends above the bimini. No need for a bimini light.

There are fuses for the anchor light and the running lights. The fuse block data is in the owners' manual.

The stern light that came with my SPX 210 OB is very high. In fact, I typically pass through some low clearance places. It would be great to have a shorter light on board as well. When I went to marine stores like West Marine, they have shorter poll lights that are electrically and physically correct, but the “locking nut” does not have threads so I can’t secure it like the one that came with the boat. Does anyone have suggestions on where to find a shorter stern pole light that will have the threads for a Sea Ray?

Offhand, I'm not sure who makes it - guessing Perko. But you may find some info on the light or the base - you're probably just looking at the wrong manufacturer or a store that doesn't carry it. They've been used for a while so they're definitely available. In fact, I think you can get just the black, screw base part and put that on another pole. Your dealer can definitely get it for you if you're having trouble.

FYI, the reason it's long is because, by law, it has to be higher than the highest thing on the boat - the bimini.

Perfect. Thanks for info and guidance. Good to know regs too. I’ll get one tall enough for when Bimini is down.
