N.O.S. New Old Stock. Is there a way to get N.O.S. Parts for older Sea Rays?
For those not into Antique Cars. New Old Stock is the next best thing to original because it it original parts, just stored and not used for many years. Helps keep the value of the vehicle you are restoring by using genuine parts as upposed to remanufactured parts.
So the question is, Can you tell me if there is and Sea Ray N.O.S. Parts?

Flounder Pounder generally has stuff for just recently obsoleted models....i.e. the last generation produced. Sometimes you get lucky with them on old models, but usually the best source for older OEM items is an old dealer who has not regularly clened out his stock room. Unfortunately, there is no organized way to find or secure NOS parts for Sea Rays.

It might help to know that Sea Ray boats only actually makes fiberglass, cabinetry, and upholstery. The factories can't keep molds, extra parts, and everything else due to the space required, so if you need, for example, a molded fiberglass part on a 1973, or a new middle galley drawer, you are out of luck. The molds and patterns were destroyed long ago, so your only hope for replacements is a one-off made by a custom fabrication shop.

Most everything else on boats is supplied by a vendor and lots of that stuff is generic and still in production. The trick here is to find out who the OEM vendor was, run down his part number (not Sea Ray's part #) and call them directly. Your best friend on older Sea Ray boats is an experienced and friendly parts man at your local Sea Ray dealer. Unfortunately, most parts people are no longer real parts guys........these days it seems they are computer looker up-ers and, if it isn't on the screen in front of the eyes, all they know how to say is "no longer available.
