Someone has obviously been stealing stuff from my mailbox.

Not raining on my parade-

My source is the horse's mouth:

"We made the decision late this year to narrow down the mailed distribution of Sea Ray Living to customers who purchased a Cruiser, Sport Yacht or Yacht from us in the last 10 years or a sport boat in the last 5 years. That helps me on both shipping and printing costs. Sea Ray Living is always/has always been available online"

They better take this thing down then http://www.searay.com/Page.aspx/pageId/11930/Subscribe-to-Sea-Ray-Living.aspx

I had it, then didn't have it, then signed up and didn't get it, then signed up again and got one. I give up on the mag. Getting the mag is like trying to buy a boat from MM in the NE

You are probably 38 and good looking.

Hey, I'm 36 and good looking and no new issue yet...

I've never bought a new boat and have always gotten it. Although I have mentioned how terrible of a magazine it was so maybe they crossed me off the list for that.

I am in a marketing group that meets 4 times a year. I think I'll ask them if this constitutes "good marketing" or "bad marketing".

umm... probably....

I wonder if the reason for me is that I have purchased my boats in a corporation name and they don't know who I am.

Bwa ha ha...

Mr. anonymous.

Well, send your corporation to Miami and see if anyone will invite you to see the 650 Super Fly. I hear tell that there are some Marlow and Fleming's not too far away.

How to create $1.0 mil worth of bad press..............?

Save $1 per issue on postage for a self serving magazine filled with liquor and watch ads then tell owners of older boats, most of whom have owned more then one Sea Ray, that "You don't fit the demographic we are looking for".

Don't feel bad, you should try buying a boat from MM in CA. Wait, there is no dealer in Norcal to even buy a Sea Ray from. I get the magazine about once a year it seems. But, I have not bought a new boat in 11 years, guess I am not in their demographic either.

It's gonna be more than that if more than one guy passes on a 510 or 650 in favor of another brand. A 510 is $1M+ What's the going rate on a 650 Fly? $3M???

There are going to be some serious buyers at the Miami show (if they decide to go). What a b*tch to let a $3M sale walk away because you couldn't arrange a private demo or give the guy a $1.00 magazine.

I would get in the car and hand-deliver the magazine and the invitation, but, we believe in superior customer service.

For a $3mil sale I would wash his car, make him dinner and buy his wife a pool boy.

Coming soon.....

Apology, is mine....think I started the ill feeling, suggesting someone may like to mail me a copy.....wasnt meant to

The SRO membership is contained to the U.S so I cant sign up to it.

My comment wasnt meant with any malice to the brand. And I think I commented when Matt asked a while back on the site. That I would be happy to see a PDF downloadable version of the mag, as thats how I read the daily newspaper and the financila paper here, a couple of boat mags, and most of my books.

Having printed copies is nice but our boat club is considering going to PDF copies of our newsletter starting next year. For us, we are a non-profit, volunteer based organization so finding the right person to create the printed copies is very difficult. Printed copies and postage costs us around $6K a year so we must keep as many advertisers as possible to make the publishing equal out. If we had the advertiser income to have the "Quiet Hailer" professionally done that would be nice but is not in the cards. To me, there are worse things than having to read the "magazine" in PDF form. It also allows the advertisers to create a link directly from the page.

I'll sell mine to the highest bidder!

I'm kidding, I'll send mine to anyone that wants it. Hell I'll even pay postage. Just pm me your address. First customer gets it.

I realize it's not exactly about the actual magazine, but more about the respect.
