Sea Ray Homecoming Cruiser/Sport Boat Expo !! Here we go!

Thanks guys ! I have been on the water again all day so I am slacking here. I need to thank the enthusiasm and certainly encourage your participation. I will not talk negativity as this is such an opportunity for all of us that I will continue the word of excitement; and hope you to find it in any way possible to attend this first annual event. I will mention (even though I don’t want to) that Rick speaks the business gospel but I have no concerns that CSR will make this event great. We at Sea Ray Boats will continue to add more icing to the cake as we get closer to the date so stay tuned. Frank laid out the basic plan (like demoing and plant touring with belly full isn’t enough fun) but our team is wanting to do more and more with each passing day.
I will do my utmost to post as often as I can and keep everyone in the loop for any add-ons to the event, best I can. My concern, which is directly related to how little I post is that I am away from a computer often. I spend a lot of time on the water and give whatever vessel I’m on, my complete and undivided attention. Having the assistance from all of you to make this project a reality, is overwhelming for all of us at Sea Ray.
This started with your voice and an idea, we progressed to asking senior management of the possibilities, we capitalized on a strong date with product available for us all to check out, we certainly picked a cool place to gather like never before as a Club, and now it is written in stone. There are people way above my pay grade that are recognizing and trying to thank a private site for all you do for our Brand…. we are humbled by your strength in existence. Your time has come CSR, you have shot to the top of a company’s attention and I want you to take advantage and reap the rewards of your loyalty.
We have intentions to show you our appreciation for all you do for us so please don’t just sit home wondering if this will be a fun time. Come and see that it will be a great time…be a part of the 1st annual Homecoming and take advantage of the Expo attitude.
Rick & Frank both are very much right when they say this is being done just for CSR….and in my opinion CSR is not a web site, but instead, a large group of a boating brand fans that the employees of Sea Ray Boats would love to meet…….Let’s blow Mr. Rob Parmentiers’ and all the employees of Sea Ray Boats socks off when they see our strength!

Thank you Cap'n Rusty

Just so we can understand more about what this opportunity means and maybe give it a different perspective:

Brunswick Corp 2011 Sales $3.75 billion
Brunswick Boat Group 2011 Sales (excluding engine sales) $1.02 billion.

These folks are throwing us a get together, want to meet us and hear what we have to say. We are their customers.

By way of example, I used to work for a $450 million dollar a year company that did not give a crap about their employee's opinions. What they told me was, and I quote: "We are not paying you to run the company." That's why I am self-employed.

What you need to ask yourself:

When was the last time a billion dollar a year company invited me to a party and wanted to hear what I had to say?

This is an event that you do not want to miss.

Rusty,

Thanks again for all your efforts. Our room is booked.

In post #45, Rick suggested a list of attendees be added to the original post. As that list grows, I think it will encourage others to strongly consider attending. Since your schedule may not allow you to follow this thread as closely as you may like, maybe the moderators could help out.

I cant imagine you slacking in anything.
So far you and Frank have gone over and above
we will try to keep the ball rolling and be sure to check in as time and info permit
this event has raised the bar on my restoration efforts on the 600..I want it not only to be something I can be proud of but one for Sea Ray to be proud of having produced

I'll post it later, but I'm writing a blog tonight and will post the link when it's done. This event will be the topic with a link to CSR and the thread. Who knows...might get a few newbies here plus some Sea Ray Owner wannabes...

Mark

We are going to build the attendee's list at the end of post #1 on this thread, just as the other CSR Rendevouzs have done, but since that is Rusty's post, I can't edit it for the addition. He is doing an orientation for a dealer this morning, so mabe we can get this formalized by the end of the day......unless Chuck can do some of his moderator magic and get it handle earlier. Here is the list as it stands now:

Buckeye Boater # attending 3
mistercomputerman # attending 2
Pyrojodge # attending 2
chuck1 # attending ?
mwph # attending 2
phlorida # atttending ?
moparlvr4406 # attending 2 bringing a classic Sea Ray
AMFM3 # attending 2
sdarc # attending 2

Please let us know the number of folks you are bringing since that impacts the guy cooking the barbecue.

I should also tell you that this is a family friendly event. You won't have to deal with scantily clad models pointing at boats and Sea Ray events are not beer parties. I honestly don't know the plans, but I do know that your wives and families will not be uncomfortable here.

I also expect Sea Ray to do some sort of a more formal registration process so we can get contact info for all those coming in case thee are changes along the way.

Chuck,

If you would, it would be great if you would help us keep the attendees list current and accurate. You and Jim are the only ones besides Rusty who can edit post # 1 to keep the list updated. Rusty's real job keeps him away from his desk.......and heck, even land for that matter........for extended periods so we appreciate another shoulder to the wheel on this one.................

Morning,

I am reading the latest post and started writing down names so I could make all the updates at one time….get to the last page and see that chuck1 has done it for me. I certainly do appreciate the help I’m getting but I cannot burden you guys with the work part of this project. If you can just make a post saying Yes and how many, I will do my best to keep us all up to date as quickly as possible.

...that’s the employee in me.

Plan B- You guys just keep on keep’in on at what you’re doing because I love it. Chuck if it is of little bother to you, please feel free to make all the editing changes you think are needed. This ship isn’t stopping now so if I have to leave the Helm for a bit, Hell yes I would like it if someone took over...arrrrr!
