hi there, looking for a pair of the raised profile { metal?] sea ray emblems for my boat. These are about 10 inches long by 2 inch high..... probably used on lots of boats, mine is a 1982 355T

Thanks.......

Or you may take them off and polish and wax that part of your boat for the first time. They are dirt collectors and add little value in my view.

Actually, they are plastic. Both of mine broke when I removed them to "wax that area for the first time". I am replacing them with the newer placard looking Sea Ray emblems or decals. Right now I'm still waxing.

I took my original emblems off b/c they were crudded up pretty bad. Unfortunately SR mounted them with 6 stainless wood screws. So now I had to repair the holes b/c direct replacements from SR were NLA (I checked with Marine Max). SO i ordered these instead, from MarineMax. Remarkably, the chrome Searay was cheaper than ebay, and the oval emblem was the same price.

Sorry, but I beg to differ! The Sea Ray emblems to me are well worth cleaning and keeping, something of a "badge of honour", you can spot a Sea Ray, especially a classic, from great distances. Plus, they are simply a good styling detail!

I had no emotional problem with my original emblems. But one of the chrome SRs was missing when I bought the boat, while the other was all flaking and peeling. The big raised plastic circle they were mounted on had water trapped behind it and was mounted to (non-marine) plywood discs that were rotting and weeping scuzz water, both into the carelessly drilled holes in the fiberglass AND down the side of the salon. The available chrome SRs were not the correct size to fit onto the plastic circles and all the above mentioned parts are NO LONGER AVAILABLE from SR or Marine Max. So I had to go to plan B - Modernize.

I kept the one flaking chrome SR and sprayed it black - it now sits with a bunch of other odd pieces in a display case in my office. The plastic circles and plywood disks are in my basement collecting sawdust. I don't have the heart to throw them out, despite the fact that I am generally NOT a pack-rat.

Are they all plastic? I ordered a set of 13" gold emblems from Ebay that were suppoesed to be OEM, and I was suprised that they were plastic. I was expecting metal.

I've seen them on the shelf at Wakeen's Family Boating in Rock Island. They're my SR dealer. Don't know if they have any currently.
