Sea Ray Crash

Can't believe they would split the scene of something like that.... Although we don't know if the operator was actually dui, I'm glad no one seems to have been hurt. Nice boat though...looks like it will survive and live to cruise the river another day...

I think the DUI giveaway is that it appears they tried to launch the dinghy. :smt043

That was funny attempted get away in the dink.... I guess the only reason to run would be drugs / alchol... etc...
Atleast no one was injured...

I wonder what the penalty is for leaving the scene of an accident as compared to a charge of BWI. The guy will probably get away with only a slap on the wrist as long as all 9 people stick to the same story.

As far as repairs, I'd say he's in for a huge amount of gelcoat and fiberglass work plus rudders, props, shafts, struts and transmissions - as long as the trannies imploded before the crankshafts.

It was you... wasn't it... and now you are lookiing for an excuse.

Would it be a crime to leave the scene of a running you boat aground? Forgetting about the alcohol and all, would it be a crime to leave?

You gotta think that boat will take $50K plus in repairs. Assuming that no real bad structural damage was done. I don't think I would be buying that boat.

DB< Funny how "DBCooper" would be asking such advice :smt017
mmmmm, how about a plane?

So you all are saying this is not how your suppose to beach your boat?

Full speed at the shore thought that was the easiest thing then you don't need anchors.

He/She had nine people on there to help him get it back in the water guess the ones that left didn't wanna give it a shot :smt043

I talked to a guy on this boat today. The driver was not drinking, He just wasn't paying attention. He left scene to walk to nearby marina to get help. The damage to boat was bent rudder, bent prop, scrapes in gel-coat. The boat is in the water the bilge pumps
aren't running no breach no water coming in to the hull. The build our Sea rays Tough. estimates for repairs about 25,000.00.
The media tries to blow everything out of proportion.

anyway that's the skinny.

Thanks to prop pockets! Surprised that the struts did not rip out of the hull ....

Accident at Midnight, fast enough to get the entire boat up on shore? kind of hard to believe a owner of a yatch like this would be be tha negligent about safety.

Was the guy on the boat at the time of the accident?
