I am about to pull the trigger on a 2004-2006 420 Sedan bridge, looked at one today and have 3 more lined up next week. Any thoughts, likes or dislikes? We love the opendess and all the room the flybridge offers. My concerns are, no A/C in the bridge and its a totally different animal then Im used to, I currently have a Donzi 38ZR, it just seems like there are soon many parts to break!! lol. Thanks for any input.

We went from a 330 Sundancer to our 550 Sedan Bridge and love the openness of the fly bridge and being up out of the cave. We live in a desert climate and don't have A/C on the bridge and have not missed it. Once the boat gets moving the air flowing through the bridge keeps it cool. If it got THAT uncomfortable I could go down below and drive from the lower helm. In your area a lower helm might be something you want on a boat to give you that option.

420DB is a nice boat! It may be hard to find one with air up top but in South Florida, I can see where you would want it! Good luck

I have the 400DB, which is the old version of the 420DB. We have lived on ours since Jan. You don't really need AC in the bridge, just open the canvas. Plenty of air flows through. If you are in Fl for the summer, it may get hot up there, but when you are cruising, you will get plenty of air.
I don't know the speed of the Donzi, but the sedan bridges only cruise in the low 20's. You have to learn to enjoy the view! Inboard maintenance on the engines is easy. Outboard takes some contortion!
As for to many parts to break, they are well made. All boats have parts that break. Make sure to get a good surveyor.

Having owned a full array of Sea Ray's, including all of their last generation bridge boats, I would tell you the 420/44 DB is a very nice boat but it is underpowered. If the price difference is doable I would suggest the 500/52 DB, which is a much more liveable and properly powered boat. The 500/52 all came with bridge air conditioning. Once you have bridge air (especially is southern climates) you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Although I have the predecessor to the 500/52DB, I echo Brian's comments exactly. We were close to buying a 420/44DB three seasons ago but decided to go a few years older and get all the amenities like bridge air, hydraulic platform and 3 staterooms that the 480DB offered. I normally would be shopping for my next boat by now but honesty we have everything we need for quite awhile. I can't see going back to a boat without bridge air especially after this summer's temps.

I own this boat a 2004 Sedan Bridge 420 for 12 years now, bought it new.
i still love the boat, never really missed an AC on the bridge, although I know someone who retrofitted one into the little cabinet on the starboard side.
