Hello all, new to the group, Just acquired a 340 express cruiser.
Going to rebuid her engines over the winter and put her back in service on the AICW.
She is in VA Beach and going to be hauled back to the Outer Banks on a truck. I would like to build cradles to sit it in while I work on it.
Does anyone have a Dimensional Drawing of the bottom that I could use to cut the profile of the hull?

Thanks In advance

Mark

Not needed. Just make sure the boat is supported by 3 keel blocks and at least 4 boats stands and it will be fine.

Outstanding!

I dont have that info but I did just complete a three year, total renovation of a 1985 Sundancer 340. I Was led by a professional renovation specialist and learned a great deal. The boat had newly rebuilt gas engines and transmissions, but every other system was rebuilt. The rebuild occured in Ft Lauderdale and then trucked to Portsmouth wher she sits now. Let me know if I can assist with issues you may have.

congrats on your decision to invest in this wonderful boat. Its true that they dont make them like they used to. If you dont have the unrealistic sense that your going to recover your investment, but plan on "using up" your improvements, you can have the best of both worlds...a beautiful well built boat, that you know every corner of, and that will serve you for many years to come. Good luck!

Thanks Topnote and hottoddie. I am a fab shop for custom yachts here in the outer banks.
This little gem came to me for the cost of moving her... she will go behind my shop and get the full treatment..
If you need any kind of parts made let me know i may be able to help.. you can check out Atlantic Fabrication on Face book if your interested in what i do.

Greetings and welcome.
There was a drawing for a cradle in the back of the owners manual. If you dont have the manual check the Searay website.

More info for late 80's 340's here:

Forgot I had the manual on my phone....
Not the greatest thing - hope it helps.

Sea Ray recommends a storage cradle for extended lay ups like you are contemplating. Cradles were available in the 80's so I am sure Sea Ray has the drawings. Try emailing SR customer service and explain your need. They are usually very responsive.

Well shes on the ground behind the shop.. One engine frozen one turning
What else should i look at before I try to fire one of these. My understanding is jasper 454s one hour on both then sit for five years. Baring the obvious gas, oil, filters. Should i just automatically rebuild the raw water pump before hand anything else I'm missing?

I'll be down for a few days in November. I amy have to come check out your shop, and your progress on the boat.
