I live in new jersey and have a 1998 290 sea ray sundancer. Already getting my planning ready to put her away for the season.( uhg) Has anybody had a winter cover made for it instead of shrink wrapping. It costs me about $12- $15 a foot for shrink wrapping and in the spring i just take it off and throw money away. Looking for pros and cons and price comparison. Looking to do some motor maintenance this winter ( risers and manifolds) and would like to have access to the inside without cutting a hole in the shrink wrap or having a zipper put in for extra cost.

If you're careful, and know what you're doing, you can reuse a shrink wrap cover for a couple of years.

Shrink wrap doors are $30-ish and can be cut-out and reused until the zipper fails (be gentle opening and closing).

Build a square back end for the support/structure and you'll have lot's of room to work inside... kinda like your camper canvas.

Fisher Covers make top notch winter covers.

Bought a fisher for our 98 290 on CL last year for $500. Super lucky to find it, it’s awesome. If you’re going to keep the boat I think it’s worth the investment. Pretty sure they’re 2-3k new
