Sea Lift Owners

Hi Gary, I have read your post about your lift and the problems with keeping it clean and all the zincs. I'm in the Annapolis area north of you. I have a diver clean the bottom all summer. I was going to move up in size or keep the 42. Looks like keeping the 42 is the way to go for now and make some changes.

No point in repeating myself then...

If I was putting on a new lift, I would have the thing prepped and painted with Trilux before the install... I don't think mine was done right the first time and the yard redid it and it's held up very well over the last 3 months.

My 2 cents.

No, we're going to leave her in the water. I'll put enough of the pink stuff in the water tank to flush the toilet a few times and to get it throughout the water hoses. I had an engine room heater from my gas boat days so I still use that.

If we're lucky, we'll have one of those freak 70 degree winter days and we can take her out.

Larry,
Dont leave the pink stuff in the water tank. Drain it as soon as u can. Ull end up with a smell every time u open the faucet. I switched to an alcohol based antifreeze as even my hoses retained the smell. took most of a season to get rid of it .

Rob, I've heard of the pink stuff smelling up the hot water heater, but not the whole water system. So far I haven't had any problems. We do de-winterize pretty early in the season, like before April Fools' day, so maybe that's why. The pink stuff's just not in there very long.

Thanks for the warning.
