Hey, all. Does anyone have a Sea Doo Spark? I haven't had any PWC's in a few years. I always had higher end of the lineup Yamaha's. The Spark has me really interested by how much fun it looks to play around with because of its little size. However, I am afraid it might a novelty jet ski and that the fan doing "wheelies" and bunny hops with it could get old quick and that I might miss the comfort and speed of a bigger Yami. Are they quality? Can they even do 50mph? Are they a bear trying to cruise in rougher water?

Funny you posted this I just bought a 2018 3 up with IBR yesterday but won’t get it till may.
I was toying with the same questions and figured if we get bored of it I’ll give it to the kids.
2 reasons I went with the spark, 1 it’s lightweight and you can throw it around easily, 2 it’s lightweight and my crane Davis can easily pluck it out of the water and onto the platform.
If your looking to do wheelies you need the VTS (variable trim system) only available on the trixx model I believe but if you get any model with IBR you can install it yourself.
I had the dealer ordered me the part at a discount. Also install foot wedges to plant your feet for wheelies.
I’ve heard all good things about the spark line up except it’s not great in rough water only because of the material it’s made from. You will take a beating but that’s not what it was intended for. It’s the dirt bike of the water.
Let us know what you decide.

I appreciate the response. Learned something new as I wasn't aware the VTS was needed for wheelies. It's seems like a blast as you noted it's like a dirt bike on water but I love the comfort and speed of the Yamaha FX. But I've had performance cruiser skis for decades and I really want something new. I think maybe instead two Spark's or two yami's I need a Spark and an FX!!

LOL, that’s the direction we’re headed: I took delivery of our new 2018 Yamaha VXR (in blue) last month and I am waiting for I don’t know what (maybe my healthcare stocks to kick in once again :) to pull the triggger on a Spark TRIXX. One for speed and one for wheelies!

I’ve had SeaDoo PWC for years. Started with the ‘89 55 hp SP’s and had XP’s,GTX’s, RXT’s and so on. Never had more fun then back in the day when you could really whip around those light two seaters like the SP or XP’s. Until the SPARK. Light weight, low tech, enough HP to be fun. No race machine but mid 40’s speed wise. That ace engine in the Spark is super reliable. The IBR (brake and reverse) is a must. I think IBR and VTS are a package. I’d suggest a three up. The two up is for one adult and a child, the three up will allow for two adults or one adult and two kids. You don’t have to get the TRIXX to get the VTS but it’s a model worth looking at. Oh, and if you really want the two up, at least option up to the HO Engline that’s standard on the three up. The Spark is fun. If features like dry storage, full instrumentation, top performance and stereos (now on many 2018 SeaDoo models), then look at the rest of SeaDoo’s line up.

A blue VXR was on the short list for me! I love the idea of the GP1800 but the VXR seems to be almost identical but a couple grand less.

I've had Kawasaki, Polaris and Yamaha. Never had a Sea Doo. Yeah, you're not kidding. Those old two seater two strokes were a blast! I was wondering if the Spark could hit 45mph but I think I've decided on one Spark and one larger ski instead of two of the same so my concerns about the Spark aren't much of a big deal to me anymore. It's nice to have learned that they are reliable and to get the VTS. I have noticed the stereos on other models and that would be pretty neat!

The spark 90ace HO (standard on the 3up ) has been reported to hit 48-51 mph. The IBR and VTS is not a package together you can get IBR on 2 and 3 ups but to get the VTS you need to order a Trixx although you can purchase the kit and it’s plug and play.
The only difference I see with a spark and Trixx is the VTS, foot wedges, and adjustable handlebars.
I did order the licorice and Mango above.

I love the color options on those things! 50mph on that little thing would feel fast. I think I am going to go with a Trixx and a FX Cruiser SVHO.

This synopsis is EXTREMELY HELPFUL for my family and I, as we are finishing up shopping for our second ski ... (thanks!)

He-he, color me ... J-E-A-L-O-U-S (and extremely happy, fer ya)!

Thanks bud! Gotta enjoy life right!!?!! By no means am I loose with my money but I think it would be a shame to die with a ridiculous amount of cash. What's the point of that? So boating and jet skiing seemed like a great way to keep that from happening!!
