Sea Dek Cost?

We paid $4500 for the Seadeck measured and installed. It was $5,000 even, but I lined up several of my buddies boats for him to do at the same time, so he knocked 10% off. Castaway Customs did mine. I asked their rep to email me his cad file so that I could see the layout that he put together. There are quite a few pieces for a 400

Thanks! That seems like a decent price for the entire project, installed! Good idea about seeing the CAD file first, too. I'd like to see that before committing. It's definitely a few pieces! I don't know that we'll do the bridge at this time... we are pricing new canvas in parallel and the check book can only handle so much pain! But if the quote is around there WITH the bridge, perhaps we will...

Any pics of the finished project?

I knew what I was asking! ;)

It looks great! We are debating whether to go with a black line or a cream colored line (more like the boat color). For us, we may go with the off-white. Hopefully, it's easy to clean.

What do you have on the big boat?

I have the Infinity Better than teak. That is about 3 years old. It has held up well and still looks great. The only drawbacks to it are....it gets really hot in the summer sun and when it gets wet and you're barefooted it can be really slippery. Not slippery at all if you are wearing any kind of shoe.

Another infinity. 3 years old, You can take it out and wash it. No glue. I love it.

What did you guys with Infinity do for your swim platforms? Also snap down infinity?
Because of the sun always beating on it and it being wet a lot it will get beat up was my thinking. The infinity or whatever else is used is under the canvas when closed up. Also, no glue again..lol

Lots of flooring choices now. Used to be soggy carpets or teak. Inifinity can be snapped to swim platforms.

I have both SeaDek and Infinity on my boat. SeaDek on the swimplatform and walkway. Infinity inside. No more wet smelly carpet. But honestly I'd be afraid of putting Infinity on a swimplatform. My experience is that it gets extremely slippery when wet with bare feet. The thought of someone jumping from the dock to the boat with wet feet makes me very nervous. Quint would be the "go to" for Infinity and is extremely talented in the installation aspect, so maybe he can share his personal experiences with it better than I can.

Ditto & +1

Quint did mine as well a couple years ago. Did a fantastic job and was in constant communication with me through the process. Infinity is extremely durable. As someone once mentioned, you can drop a meatball with marinara sauce on it and it will wipe right up.

In my experience you are correct that it can get a little slippery when wet & if you're wearing sandals. Also, it gets a little warmer in the sun than SeaDek.

When I have to replace the SeaDek on my swim platform, I may do the "snap in" SeaDek so I can remove it while in storage.

Some styles/colors of Infinity are a more "textured" weave and less "slippery" than others. I have had Infinity on my swim platform for 4 seasons and have never slipped, but as with anything ...add water and things are more slippery. The "Better than teak" is a flatter weave than say the "Boucle"....both pictured below. I would say the Boucle would have more grip underfoot when wet.

Another Happy Infinity Customer! Have it in the cockpit and love it. But I am apprehensive about putting it on the platform.

Seadek doesn't slip.....just sayin'. And the feel to bare feet....priceless.

Seadek is an awesome product...I love the stuff.
