I have been looking at SD 240's and 270's for sale ads and one thing the older 270 ads typically mention is that the "storage" area under the helm is actually a 2 person sleeper. However, none of the ads I've seen actually have a picture of this and I'm curious what it looks like. They put pictures of everything else about their boats and usually have several of the head compartment but I can't find one of the other compartment, including on the searay.com site.

Can anybody point me in the direction of a good picture of this part of the 270? Thanks in advance!

Yes the old 270SD had a small/very small one person sleeping area. I think there is some pictures of it on the sea ray image site. The 240SD is just a storage area. I think if you look at my photo album you will see the storage area, it is where I had the shore power panel mounted.

You talkin' bout DAs? Sundancers? look on boattrader.com.......EDIT:nevermind.

Here is a picture of that area. The feet can also slide under the forward cushion area as well.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. The username and password are both searaydemo, FWIW.
There is a filler pad that covers the hole you see in the floor. The compartment is finished off nice, CO monitor and has a porthole in it. It is fine for one person or a couple smaller kids. My wife and I slept in it together often, she's small, I'm 6'1. Not a good fit but we did it. Because of a bad knee I always had to back in. My grandkids liked hanging out in there. If you just want it for storage you will get alot of junk in there, it's bigger than it looks.

Thanks Woody, that is very helpful. One of the boats I'm looking at is a 2003 SD270 and I think it would be kind of neat to have that compartment.
