Saugatuck, MI.......Good weekend destination?

The beach south of the channel and the lagoon are nice places to enjoy the water. The red dock for some drinks then there are a lot of places for food and drink in town.

We like Saugatuck a LOT. Nice docks, nice shops, restaurants, and the beach south of the channel and the lagoon (as already mentioned) are great.

Highly recommended.

We stayed at Tower Marine a few years ago. You can dink over to the business/retail area and tie up to a dock just for dinks. Great weekend location. Lots of restaurants and shops. Fill up when you get there. We have had to wait a long time in line leaving on a Sunday morning.

Nice place to hang out with lots of places to eat, art stores and there is live music. Be warned, this is an alternate lifestyle community and find out if they are having one of their "weekends" and avoid it like the plague.

Saugatuck is a great harbor to visit. You want to try and get a dock at Sargents Marine or Singapore Yacht Club.
They are located on the town side and you can walk to everything. As far as the other life style goes it is not a problem.. They have there own place to party. I have been around here for a long tine anf think it is one of the best ports to visit or boat out of. Plenty to do here. If you are wanting to cone over here get a hold of Linda and I and we will give you the tour. After Labor is also good as more docks are around and the crowds go down.

Saugatuck is completely walkable. It's a small town. Slips can be tight at times and if you end up in Douglas, just across the lake, it's less walkable, although you can take the chain ferry across the river. All in all a great port.
