Sarasota Bay Help

I'll let one of the locals confirm, but I think it's pretty skinny in there.

I forgot to mention to make sure you enjoy some time hanging out at the Jewfish Key sandbar (inside of Longboat Pass). Make sure to pay attention to tides there.
A favorite pass time there on 2 tide days, was to snag the drunks that fell off their boats, or tried to swim to shore during peak outgoing tides. Best anchorage if you get there early enough is in the little cove on the SE side of the sandbar coming off the West side of the island. No current, close enough to shore to swim or paddle. But on holidays, all bets are off. Haulover chit show, with lots of music blasting. The residents call it the Red Neck Riviera. Been that way for as long as I can remember, and that's a loooooong time.

Thanks for the tip! We'll try that this June if we can during our rental day.

Definitely have seen some of the chit show there.

Unfortunately, even Marina Jacks is "out of bounds" for his Anna Maria pontoon rental agreement. However, I'd probably sneak under the bridge that far unless I can tell the tracks are being recorded, and I can't turn them off.

I'm going to give the OP the benefit of the doubt and hope that he's renting one of their hurricane deck boats.

But you're right, he'll have to go under the bridge to hit Marina Jack's. Still leaves a lot of other options.

Do you really think I'm a pontoon boat kind of renter? I don't think so!!

I was on your side :) I said I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. A pontoon can be fun though depending on what you are doing and how many people you have with you.

I've run both recently. You get the exact same look from the rest, and they both have their moments of goodness.
Personally, I prefer the pontoon in a wind. Hard to tell when a 100 ton Master Offshore is running a 272 schooner, or a pontoon boat until you cross me.
