I had the original silver flatscreen and wanted to upgrade it to a high def. I bought a 24" Vizio 1080p. The width left about a 1/2" gap on the sides. I lowered it a bit and that left about a 3" gap at the bottom. So I made a faux sound bar and wrapped it in speaker cloth. It is open at the top and front. The speakers in the flat screen point down from the bottom so I put a plastic deflector in the sound bar so the sound comes out the front ....it worked very well. The Vizio was a lot thinner than the original so I needed a 1" spacer at the back to bring the tv out further. Very happy with quality of the picture and the size..... Just two more to go
