With the camper canvas on and a sunny day the cockpit usually stays warm enough. However, for the special person on board, cough cough cough, my GF, what's a safe AC/Genny/Dock powered heater to run? I was planning to use my oil filled radiant heater. Thanks
Dude you have a diesel. It's safe to run a fricken Solo Stove on that thing!!! I have been running one of these for a few years now (the prior version). Love it...the swivel is nice to move the air around a bit.
We do not need one often, but I use something very similar. Most have 2-settings-750w and 1500w. Bennett
I picked up a basic space heater at Sam's Club a couple years ago and it works well on those late fall edge days in Northern Illinois. I dont remember the wattage but you dont want something that is going to trip the breaker. It has an auto shut off if it falls over or if we leave it on and it rotates. Works great, maybe $75. I leave the model I do when I grab it out of storage.
I use the Edenpure. It's expensive but it works really well for it's size. It swivels around to move the hot air and it's got a safety switch in case it tips over. It heats up the cabin really fast and works far better than the AC on heat mode. https://www.edenpure.com/products/edenpure®-gen40-heater-cooler
CAFRAMO, I've been using it in the cockpit for the past few years and it has the tip-over safety switch.
My boat is equipped with a factory heater, plumbed into the cooling system. It's at the helm and will blow air on the windshield or into the cockpit (one small vent) Anyone have any idea how effective this is? still recovering from the storm here, but addicted to CSR RWS
When your starboard engine is up to temp (and engine running) it is very effective, it also can blow ambient temp air too...
+1 on Brett H recommendation. They sell it on Amazon also https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004473UK2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Heated blankets are also pretty good. Someone gave me one when I had covid. I liked it better than having heat blowing in my face and works faster too if it’s just one of you that are cold.
I have two of these for the winter that I use in the cabin. https://www.amazon.com/Dreo-Portabl...mzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc I have a mid size dyson in the cockpit that works great.
I use Xtreme bilge and separate cabin heaters these are really good and are a very good price with great service. https://www.xtremeheaters.com/collections/all/products/xtreme-cabin-heater
I used to use Caframo in the cabins for my boat for winterization, never thought to think they make regular heaters as well.
Go to the Bikini thread and select your favorite room heater. There appears to be a lot of ratings also.
