Tom,
I use magnesium anodes on my Bravo 3 drives (fresh water application). I believe the original anode on my trim tabs are zinc. Is there a magnesium replacement? OR Does it make any difference which annode is used on the trim tab? The original zincs don't appear to wear much from year to year.

Thanks for your support!

Jeff,

In theory (and usually in practice) sacrificial anodes are not needed on stainless steel Trim Tabs when the boat is kept in freshwater.

However magnesium anodes for Trim Tabs are available, Martry part number MTR-CMR03M would be the magnesium replacement for the zinc anodes we install on most SeaRay Trim Tabs. I would install these (or a similar model from another manufacturer) if you like. They are relatively inexpensive insurance.

I hope this helps,
Tom

Thanks Tom, very helpful. I appreciate the part number. It will be interesting to see if the magnesium erodes much if any also. Thanks again for the prompt reply, I really like how your product perfroms on my 300.
