My boat has been in the water for a week and I took it out today and the rutter packing is leaking:smt100 How do you tighten it up to make it stop leaking. It is doing about 3 gallons an hour.:wow:Do you need special tools?
thanks
Bob

I have two rudders. I also have a rutter, but I don't think anyone wants to hear how I pack it.

May I have another Peanut Rutter Sandwich Cookie?

I think you guys scared SR Bob away. Utterly cruel. But that's a whole nutter topic.

No I'm not scared away. Just have things going on. Anyway you can get packing in when the boat is in the water? If I could get one piece in to slow it down that would be great.
Thanks
Bob:thumbsup:

Some moderator really needs to correct this spelling... utterly ridiculous.

How DARE you have a life outside of this website!

Just messin' with ya! I did mine when the boat was out of the water so I'd defer to those who may have tried this while floating. I know shaft logs can be done in the water (with old fashioned stuffing boxes) but it does involve quite a bit of gushing.
