The drip tray my 5ECD sits on is pretty rusted. The boat is in freshwater now, so salt is no longer an issue.

I know Kohler makes a stainless steel tray, but I see no easy way to swap the trays out. I'd have to lift the generator up real far to be able to angle it out.

I believe I'm forced to scuff it up and paint it. Any suggestions?

I have the same situation and it drives me crazy. The boat is spotless inside and out except for the drip tray on the 5ECD and removing it is a major project from what I can tell. Maybe next winter I'll pull it before I shrinkwrap, do a full restoration, and put it back in the spring. Its frustrating to say the least.

At least I'm not alone! Check into the stainless steel tray before you do that.
