Main Cabin A/c condensation pan is draining fine but, rusty water drains to sump and out side of hull leaving stain to be cleaned once a week. I assume I will have to clean and coat or replace the pan after haul out. Can you suggest any treatment / process I can do to minimize this till on the hard? Thanks, Mike

Mike,

I got the latest pan from Dometic (Cruisair) - it is SS and coated. I will pull my unit this fall and swap pans. It's about $160 for the new pan - unless you can get Dometic to spring for it. I decided to go the replacement route rather than use a rust converter...Ospho or corroseal are a couple to consider.

I concur. My dealer told me that he has one on order and is going to replace mine (on my new boat) before it even starts to rust.

Most people with the rust problem install a small piece of clear hose in the discharge hole on the hull so the stream is moved out about an inch. It's just held in place by friction. When the water flow shuts off, the drips do not run down the side of the hull.

Thanks for your replies. I will try short hose end but, it sounds like a winter job to replace the pans. Miike
