I have a 1996 330 Sundancer that I am trying to install a gas fumes sniffer. Is there any tricks or hidden passages that can be used. It looks like all the wires and cables from the dash area lay on top of the starboard fuel tank. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Sea Ray usually installs a wire chase in the boats that can be used for running wires from the bilge thru the cockpit floor and up into the area behind t he panel. Look for a 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" white corrugated hose with a monofilament fishing line in it. If an unthinking previous owner pulled a wire but didn't run another ware or line for future use, your only hope is to use a fish tape and try to push it thru the chase.

I can see a short black hose stuffed with wires. I will look for another chase. Would be great if it was a little less challenging.

IT is easy to run the wires if there is a monofilament line in the chase. Sea Ray sometimes loads up the chases so that the only reasonable way to add a wire to it is with the fishing line. Without it you may have to run the wire for the sniffer by itself. Look at the task in terms of baby steps……..you know you have to go thru the cockpit deck, so figure out where it can be drilled without doing any damage and where you can access it. From there, figure out where you have to go next and do the same evaluation.
