Run to the sun!?!?

That slip looks awkward and narrow,is there a current there.

It's narrow but not awkward, and no current to speak of. It's in a very protected area. I backed her in first try without touching or bumping a pylon.

Don't forget to get a Tow boat membership, lots of sandbars down here :)
maybe we will see you on the water today or tomorrow ( jetski ) busted my heat exchanger on generator on boat :(

Glad all worked out Shaun. Congratulations. I wish the admiral could take a chance like that. What an amazing story!

I'm officially filing a protest against Shaun terminating this thread. NOW'S the time we want to hear if the gamble paid off and your acclimation to your new surroundings.

Shaun, You owe it to your landlocked friends! :smt001

Congrats Shaun and welcome to FL, you will both just love it we're sure. You managed to make the move here in quick time too! It took us 7 years from deciding to move to FL to actually aquiring all the legal paperwork to do it. Once again good luck, welcome and mind the skinny water:)

Shaun,
It has been a privilege and an honor to participate in this thread and great to see how it all worked out for you.
I wish that I could have pulled off the move many years ago but now it will have to be seasonal when I get to the 17th or 18th hole of life! My family is too entrenched in our current community now & I want my children to finish school here with their childhood friends.
I wish you & Heather the best on your new life in the sun. Keep us updated from time to time. I would like to hear how the jobs go etc. Be well my friend!!

But how many years ago was that?

Proving identity under Florida's current restrictions can be a challenge.

True, the requirements are all plainly listed on Florida's DMV website, but what they don't tell you is that they have idiots working in County Clerks offices, for example, they wouldn't accept my wife's social security card.....it was in her maiden name. They were happy if we could prove we were married with a certified copy of our marriage license....who carries a marriage license (or can even find theirs), much less a certified copy, to get a driver's license. Here's a better one........you have to prove residency in the county you are in......I'm ok because all utility and tax bills are in my name, but no so for my wife. We had to go get a certified copy of the deed to our house to furnish the county clerk to get a driver's license, only to find that it wasn't acceptable to the Einsteins in the tag office because because my wife's name on the deed was abbreviated (middle initial instead of her full name) by the attorney who prepared the deed.

Frank,
must be a northern Florida thing....lol
last month one of my kids got there drivers lic. In and out 15 minutes, next time take a run to the sun down to Stuart :)

Thanks for the info Frank. Might as well have SOMETHING go wrong!! ;) Here's a shot from a little bit ago.

Great thread, I was telling the Admiral about on the drive up to Sunday River. Good for you, let's see some house pictures as well. Enjoy the sun. Good Luck, Rob

Well, one week of work down. First week went pretty well. Manager I replaced was an a hole so made my entry pretty easy. Ppl were ready for a change. Good news is I'm sitting on the boat drinking whiskey right now. Doesn't get much better than that in March. ;)
