A while back someone posted about a replacement part for the rubber insert that replaces the rubber mount that holds the top to the windshield on searays that you can then put snaps into without drilling the windshield frame. I tried searching past threads but couldn't find it and called sailrite as that's who was supposed to have it and they had no idea what I was talking about. If anyone has any info about this part or could direct me to something that would work it would be helpful as I'm planning on replacing my top and would like to go with snaps and don't want to be drilling windshield frame. Thank you in advance for any help Rick

You can also call "Taylor Made" as they make most of the windshields
Thanks for the reply, checked their website and didn't see anything that I thought would work. Left a couple of messages at two people that make boat tops but not holding my breath as a lot of them dont like to reveal their suppliers for special parts like that. Just keep looking.

Are you talking about having your bimini top replaced & at that time replacing the OEM "J" hooks that hold it in the top groove of the windshield frame, with snaps? If so, they make SS clips with snaps that attach right into that groove for this exact purpose. I had it done when I replaced mine because it made installing easier, especially as the tops shrank a little. Here is the link of what the ones on my boat look like:

Yep, want to eliminate the rubber piece that's sewed onto the top and goes into the top groove of the windshield. saw what you posted but didn't know if they would work and how good they were when the wind was strong, also didn't know the size as the boat is under cover for winter and they make two different sizes. Also the front side windows mount that way on the bottom.

When I had my tops done by a custom shop locally, they had the snap clips & designed it that way as I told them that I wanted to eliminate that J Hook set up as well. I have had zero problems with wind etc. They have held fast without any issues.

That sounds good, what I needed to hear, Thanks for you're help knew someone on here knew how to replace that rubber!
