The day I got my 185 and removed the carpet and stored it in a safe place, I dont like the carpet coz I have noticed that its hard to clean and it smells after a few weeks of use.

Does searay make rubber mats ? does anyone make any after market rubber mats that fit a 185 ?

Also, is dish washing shope (dawn) safe to use to wash the boat?

Thanks
Manjo

well what i wanted to do is get some of that rubber matting that they put all over sea doos and glue it to the floor of my boat.. its non slip and looks nice.. but i cant find the material in big enough sheets to install them.. and they are like 150 bucks for a small piece.

Are you guys having problems with the fiberglass nonskid decking in your boats? I can't think of an easier way to clean out a boat than to hose it out at the end of the day. Every so often, I use nonskid deck cleaner made by Star Brite to clean the decking. It's real easy to do.

Dish soap tends to do a good job of stripping everything. I've had success with a wash and wax concentrate containing carnauba available at the auto parts store. I also use spray Nanowax in between seasonal waxing to keep the lustre on the gelcoat. Also, check www.iboats.com and search for "303 Aerospace Protectant". It has uv inhibitors and it will keep your seats looking great. To clean marine vinyl use a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle (also great for cleaning your stainless steel).

i have no problem but i wanted that look of the black sporty mats that they have on seadoos... he has a problem with the snap carpets

Stop and think about what you said, black in the hot sun, hot hot hot. :smt017

dawn is good to use if you are going to wax after washing. Dawn strips the wax from the boat (or any surface). I have been using a boatwash product for washing between waxings.

I agree with Ruf if you keep it clean I can not think of a easier way to clean the deck. Also have people remove their shoes prior to getting in boat. When you are done for the day use boat wash to clean and rinse it out. Sometimes if I get a stuborn mark or if I am leaving the boat in the water I will use Spray Nine which does a great job of cleaning the non-skid. I am also with Mid-way and would think the black rubber mat would be hot, hot, hot and would not want to glue anything down to the boat. Ask the people with older boats that had the carpet that was glued down. :smt018

Wesley & Ruf,

Thank you so much for your feedback. I will wax it this week and be ready for the weekend (if the weather allows it) this will be my fist time to put it on the water and I can't wait. I just got the registration stickers so I’m ready
