RPM's at WOT on a 240DA w/5.0L B3 ???

Hello All,

What should be the highest RPM's reached at W.O.T.? The reason I ask is that I had some service work done on my 240DA w/ 5.0L B3, and it seems the highest RPM's at WOT is 4100 (35mph). Thanks.

I might also mention that I have a 24P Prop too.

On my 240 DA 5.0MPI w/B-3 the WOT was 4800 RPM with 22 pitch props 48.9 MPH (GPS)

Full Throttle Range 4600-5000 RPM

If you can not get to at least the low end of this range, something is wrong.

What is wrong is a complex answer. The short answer is “It could be a lot of different things.”

Examples would vary from something as simple as the throttle linkage needing adjustment or having a propeller with too high of a pitch for the specific boat / drive/ engine to a clogged / dirty flame arrester to all sorts of things.
