My wife and I want to get away for a night for our anniversary in a couple of weeks. I was thinking of heading up to Rock Hall... any recommendations?
Thanks

A nice bottle of wine, a cd of all her favorite romantic songs, and a nice gift to present to her at sun set. Oh yea, don't forget protection...

I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself!

We keep our boat at Haven Harbour, I would say it's the nicest Marina in Rock Hall. I would be happy to answer any questions about the marina or Rock Hall

Rock Hall has three first class marinas: Haven Harbor and Osprey point are in Swan Creek which is the creek that flows around the peninsula that is Rock Hall. The Sailing Emporium is on the harbor itself. The debate over which one is best is unwinnable, I am at the Sailing Emporium and the rest of my family is at Haven Harbor. Despite numerous attempts, neither of us can convince the other to see their point of view!

To be honest, if you're looking for a romantic getaway, Osprey Point may be the best... it has a very nice restaurant / B&B on site.

Check them all out for yourself at www.rockhallmd.com.

Enjoy!

I should have said, of the marinas I checked out, we liked Haven Harbour the best. I've never been to Sailing Emporium.

I didnt know Osprey Point had a resturaunt. Thanks for letting me know. I'll need to check that out.

I'm still finishing Spring maintanence on the boat. Had hoped to get it in the water this weekend, but looks like it will be another week.

Bottom Painting- I will not attempt this again. Worth paying someone else to do.

Thanks to all for the input... especially RiverRat
Hopefully it works out!!
We are going to stay at Haven Harbour. Any recommendations on a place to have dinner?
Thanks again

We made the trip this past weekend. It went pretty well. We shoved off at about 1:30 Saturday after leaving our daughter at home with the in-laws. Weather was mostly sunny, 65 degrees and moderate winds... Trip to Rock Hall was relatively uneventful. Water was pretty rough with the wind out of the WNW. Winds were up to about 20 knots kicking up some 3' + rollers. Pretty rough ride, but alot of fun. Took us just about 1-1/2 hours. We stayed at Haven Harbour Marina. As we pulled into the channel, I began hailing the dock master to no avail. After 4 attempts to hail the marina, I fell back on modern technology, picked up the cell phone and called the marina... got right through! The women was kind enough to give me my slip assignment and told me the dockmaster was tied up at the moment. As I pulled into the fairway with the fuel dock ahead I saw the problem. There was this HUGE vessel at the fuel dock  . As it turned out, my slip was right of the stern of the boat that was fueling, so I maintained my postion while waiting for him to manuever out of the docking area. As he pulled away from the dock and we passed by each other I admired the beautiful new 440 Sedan Bridge.... I looked back over my shoulder and saw Festivus written across the Stern!
That sure is a beautiful boat!!
We went into town just before the rain started. We ate at The Old Oars Inn which just opened that day. We sat out on the second floor porch/balcony and our meal was really good. Walked through town did some antique shopping and got some hand dipped ice cream. Did pretty much the same Sunday morning. Pushed off about 11:30 Sunday morning. Similar conditions on the voyage back. The heavy winds for blowing the spray off my starboard bow right oup over the windshield into my face... Just as we were arriving at our Marina, the skys opened up for a nice shower. All in all, a good weekend. Thanks to all for the advice.

Sorry about blocking your slip, shoelessben! I saw you out there holding, but I had to fill 'er up because HH has the cheapest fuel in town when you factor in the quantity discount. Plus, my parents live on their boat at HH so all their buddies wanted a tour...

Anyway... I'm glad you enjoyed the Rock! Did you make it to the harbor at all? Waterman's and the Harbor Shack are the two restaurants on the harbor. Both are pretty fun!

Come back again real soon!

I keep forgetting to check the fuel price. Still have plenty of fuel in the tank.

I might be sorry I asked, but do you remember the base price for Gasoline?

It was no big deal.... I was glad that you were only fueling. My first thought when I turned into the fairway was that you were tied off there for the day... I then wondered how badly I was going to scratch your gel coat as I got into the slip :smt100
Then I realized you were fueling so I was way ok with waiting you out. As long as I didn't have to squeeze by! Yeah I was they guy that was in your way as you tried to leave the fairway!
We did make it down to Waterman's for a couple beers. We'll be back. We like sleepy old towns, and Rock Hall definitely qualifies! I think we are going to try and come back for the Fall Festival.

Rock Hall. I think I remember seeing the base price before discounts @ $3.97
I paid $3.52 in Deale before we left.
